[Hakata Station Lunch] A popular izakaya restaurant serving plenty of fresh seafood "directly managed by a wholesaler" for a satisfying 1,200 yen bowl
Hello. I'm Mai Ito, an FBS announcer.
This time, we will introduce the restaurants that were visited on the "Ah ne! Like! Live" segment of "Mentai Wide."
A 5-minute walk from Hakata Station! Enjoy super-fresh seafood at Hakata Maruhide, an izakaya restaurant run directly by a wholesaler (Hakata Station East, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hakata Maruhide Main Branch is a seafood izakaya restaurant located in front of the Fukuoka Second Joint Government Building, about a five-minute walk from the Chikushi exit of JR Hakata Station.
As soon as you enter the store, you will see a large fish tank. Because it is a store directly managed by a wholesaler, it participates in the auction at the market every morning and directly purchases fresh fish.
On this day, delicious seafood from Kyushu was swimming in the water, including spear squid from Kanezaki Fishing Port and mackerel from the Bungo Channel in Oita. *The seafood and origin of the seafood may change depending on the day.
The interior of the restaurant is a relaxed atmosphere.
There are counter seats and also private rooms further back.
A very popular restaurant with a wide variety of menu items including seafood bowls and set meals! Weekday-only lunch
Hakata Maruhide Main Branch is a seafood izakaya, but it also serves lunch from 11:30am to 2pm Monday through Friday.
Due to the location, there are many office workers and it can get fully booked!
There is a wide variety of dishes available, including seafood bowls and set meals.
If you want to indulge in something a little extravagant, we recommend the "Hakata Kaisendon" (1,200 yen), which comes with pickles and green laver soup.
This luxurious bowl contains five types of carefully selected fish, salmon roe, and crab.
The pickled rice bowl named after the restaurant, "Maruhide Donburi" (800 yen), is also popular.
A bowl of rice topped with a generous amount of yellowtail that has been marinated in homemade soy sauce while still fresh and thoroughly seasoned. Each piece of sashimi is large, fatty and fresh! The chewy texture makes it very satisfying to eat.
What's more, you can also add toppings to your seafood bowl.
In the case of Maruhide Donburi, you can add salmon roe (100 yen) and crab (100 yen) and enjoy it for just 1,000 yen.
Also, the "Daily Set Meal" (900 yen) will make you want to come every day!
The set includes a daily main course, sashimi, a side dish, rice, green laver soup, and pickles. You can enjoy the freshest fish of the day in the most delicious way.
The main dish for the day was "White fish with vegetable sauce." It was a very satisfying dish.
Attractive evening menu also available
Here are some noteworthy items from the evening "Seafood Izakaya" menu.
The "Live Squid Sashimi" (200 yen for 10g) is taken straight from the fish tank and prepared after the order is placed, so it's incredibly fresh!
It's sure to be a hit with guests from outside the prefecture and at dinner parties!
The "Luxurious Seafood Roll" (1,690 yen) is also a hot topic as it is so luxurious!
The base of the sushi is a kappamaki roll, topped with Nagasaki bluefin tuna and so much salmon roe that it overflows. There's even a sea urchin on top of the tower!
It's literally a luxurious dish that is perfect for sharing with a group.
This is an exquisite dish made possible by the freshness of the fish: "Marlin Rare Cutlet" (1,590 yen).
This dish is made by coating tasty swordfish in batter and then lightly deep frying it. The rare cut-up is truly beautiful.
It had a soft and fluffy texture and the delicious flavor of the tuna was superb, and it went perfectly with the tartar sauce.
At Hakata Maruhide Main Branch, you can enjoy fresh seafood for lunch and dinner. It's a restaurant you'll want to visit again and again. (Text by Mai Ito)
