[Hakata Station] Breakfast available from 7am! Large portions at the new "Pota Tama" store (Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time, we will introduce you to a pork and egg rice ball specialty store that opened in "KITTE Hakata", which is directly connected to JR Hakata Station!

Enjoy the deliciousness of freshly made food! "Po Tama Hakata Marui Store" (Hakata Station Central Street, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City) opens in May 2024

"Po-Tama Hakata Marui Store" opened on May 22, 2024 on the first floor of "KITTE Hakata" at "Hakata Marui". It is next to the bakery "HEART BREAD ANTIQUE".

"Po Tama" is a specialty store of pork and egg rice balls, Okinawa's soul food. In Fukuoka Prefecture, there are "Fukuoka Akasaka store", "Kushida Omotesando store", and "Momochihama store", and this is the fourth store. It is the first "terminal base", and is located in a convenient location for locals and tourists to stop by on their way to work or school, or between shopping.

The greatest appeal of "Po Tama" is that you can enjoy the "freshly made deliciousness."

They will make each one after you order.

By the way, the reason for opening the shop was that the president, Mr. Kiyokawa, who moved from Osaka to Okinawa, had his wife make him some freshly made pork and egg rice balls.

He realized that "it's delicious when it's cold, and even more so when it's freshly made," and opened Potama with the desire to "let more people know how delicious it is."

We currently have five stores in Okinawa, five in Kyushu, one in Tokyo, and one overseas (America).

A rich menu lineup, including some exclusive to the "Hakata Marui" store!

The menu has a wide variety of options, including the "Po Tama" (390 yen), a base of rice, tamagoyaki (egg roll), and pork luncheon meat wrapped in nori seaweed, the "Standard" (460 yen each) topped with fried miso, takana (leaf mustard greens), mentaiko mayonnaise, salmon kelp, and pickled plum, and the "Special" (600 to 700 yen) topped with bitter melon tempura, island tofu with fried tofu and fried miso, and shrimp tartar.

Another attractive feature is the "limited menu" that is only available at each store, tailored to its location.

At the Hakata Marui store, three dishes are on sale: "Hakata Motsu Stir-fried" (900 yen), "Beef Stew & Burdock Tempura" (850 yen), and "Sardine and Mentaiko" (850 yen). These are dishes that allow you to enjoy Hakata specialties, so they're great for tourists too!

"Hakata Motsunabe" is characterized by its large, plump motsunabe stir-fried in a sweet and spicy sauce made from a combination of miso, gochujang, and doubanjiang. The rich flavor is irresistibly delicious, and is recommended for when you feel like eating a hearty meal.

It goes great with pork luncheon meat. It was delicious both hot and cold!

"Beef stew and burdock tempura" is a dish inspired by Hakata's famous udon "meat burdock." It is a dish that is sandwiched between lightly flavored beef stew and large, crispy burdock tempura.

The "Iwashi Mentaiko" is made by carefully stuffing the belly of a fatty sardine with plenty of Spicy Fish Eggs, and topping it with crispy and fragrantly grilled "Iwashi Mentaiko". The shredded shiso leaves add an accent to the dish, making it refreshing to eat.

We also offer great value "morning sets" and "lunch sets"!

At the Hakata Marui store, you can enjoy the "Morning Set" for the first time at all stores. It is served from 7:00 to 10:00 in the morning, so you can purchase it before commuting to work or school, or before going out!

There are two types of sets available: "A Set" (600 yen) which includes Potamas and either Mozuku soup or a soft drink, and "B Set" (700 yen) which includes one of the standard items and either Mozuku soup or a soft drink.

The "Mozuku Soup," which is just as popular as the "Po-Tama," uses plenty of Okinawan bonito flakes and mozuku seaweed. When you open the lid, the aroma of the soup stock that wafts out makes you happy...♡ It has a strong umami flavor and goes perfectly with the "Po-Tama."

There is also a "lunch set" that has been available at several stores until now.

There are two types of sets available from 11am to 2pm: "A Set" (1,000 yen) which includes one Pota Tama, one standard item, and mozuku soup, and "B Set" (1,300 yen) which includes one Pota Tama, one standard item, mozuku soup, and a soft drink.

In addition to takeout, you can also eat it immediately after purchase in the shared eat-in space at "Hakata Marui". Be sure to try Okinawa's soul food in Hakata! (Text by Hakata Aya.)
