ARAN BAKERY

A popular bakery that bread lovers keep coming back to for a drive to "Kagami no Umi" in Fukutsu!

Hello. This is the Daily Bread Diary of a bread nerd living in Fukuoka who travels around Japan eating bread.

Fukutsu City is a popular area in Fukuoka Prefecture, known for the "Mirror Sea" and the "Road of Light (Miyajidake Shrine)". This coming season, it's the perfect spot for a drive along the coast!

This time, we will introduce a bakery that opened in 2022, located about a 5-minute walk from Fukuma Fishing Port Seaside Park, a popular spot with families.

ARAN BAKERY (Fukutsu City), a bakery that uses domestic wheat and homemade yeast

Our destination, ARAN BAKERY, is a white building located in a residential area.

There is a parking lot in front of the building, so you can come by car.

When you enter the store, you'll see about 30 different types of bread lined up!

All of the breads are made using domestic wheat and homemade yeast, and are characterized by their rich aroma and flavor, as well as their soft, chewy texture.

There is a kitchen at the back where you can see the bread being baked one after another.

Introducing popular products and my recommendations!

The poster gives off a lovely warm feeling from the owner.

I will introduce some popular products and my recommendations. Let's start with the popular products.

This is the "Baked Curry Bread" (300 yen) made with homemade green curry and plenty of vegetables. Green curry curry bread is quite rare, isn't it? There are also recommended ways to eat it.

The "Mini Campagne" (280 yen) contains rye and whole wheat flour. Campagne is generally thought of as something large, but this one is a bite-sized piece, which is nice.

"Croissant" (230 yen) made with whole wheat flour and cultured butter.

"Scones" (180 yen) made with homemade yeast that has been slowly refrigerated and fermented over several days.

These English scones are crisp on the outside and moist and buttery on the inside.

There are three kinds of melon bread: "Plain" (210 yen), "Matcha" (230 yen), and "Coffee" (230 yen).

Although it was sold out on the day we visited, the "Mentaiko Mini French Snack" (280 yen), which uses Spicy Fish Eggs from "Shobouan", is also popular.

And here are my recommendations.

The first one is "Fruit Danish" (350 yen).

The fruits change depending on the season, and I had strawberry. The fluffy and crispy Danish pastry was scented with butter, with milky sweet cream, crunchy chocolate for added texture, and plenty of strawberries! It was a cute-looking and very delicious Danish.

The second one is "Apple Pie" (300 yen).

The whole wheat pie crust is light and crispy with a rich, fragrant aroma. The sweet custard has a strong egg flavor and is topped with large, juicy apples! It was so delicious that I finished it in no time. It was my favorite apple pie♡

The shop is open three days a week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but I've become so addicted to ARAN BAKERY that I've visited twice a month.

How about taking a drive to Fukutsu with some delicious bread as your companion? (Text by Mainichi Pan Nikki)
