[New store in the Yakuin area] Experience making matcha tea! A cafe offering exquisite Japanese sweets made with Kyushu fruits (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts information about Fukuoka, mainly about cafes, on Instagram.
This time, we will introduce a cafe that opened on February 1, 2024 in Shirokane, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.
"Kajukura Fruit Workshop Shirokane" (Shirokane, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) is a cafe where you can enjoy Japanese cultural experiences and fresh seasonal fruits.
"Kajukura Fruits Workshop Shirokane" is a shop with the concept of "Japanese culture experience" x "delicious Kyushu fruits." It is located about a 6-minute walk from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station.
Some people may recognize the name, but it is a new store of "Kajugura" (an agricultural product brand managed by Yamaya Communications) in Asakura City. In Asakura City, there is "Kajugura Farm Asakura" where you can pick strawberries from January to May, and "Asakura Marche Kajugura" where you can enjoy seasonal fruits such as seasonal fruit soft serve and drinks.
At this time of year here in Shirokane, strawberries picked at Asakura Kajugura Farm are being delivered directly to be sold, and you can also enjoy Japanese sweets made with delicious Kyushu fruits carefully selected by the Kajugura brand.

Article: A great place to go strawberry picking and driving! Take-out gourmet food is also a great attraction at "Asakura Marche Kajugura" (Asakura City)
The shop is two stories tall, and the first floor sells take-out sweets and packaged fruits. Right now, they have lots of strawberries!
Take off your shoes and head up to the second floor to find a retro Showa-era café space ♡ *One order per person
In addition to tatami rooms, there are also table seats, with a total of about 26 seats.
A variety of sweets made with fresh strawberries
We will introduce you to some sweets that allow you to enjoy strawberries, which are in season now♡
Fruit Storage Set (Matcha Experience Set)
The "Kajugura Fruit Set (Matcha Experience Set)" (2,300 yen) is a luxurious set meal that allows you to compare the taste of seasonal fruits from the Kajugura.
You can enjoy strawberries at this time of year.
At "Kajugura Farm Asakura," six varieties of strawberries are grown: Amaou, Koiminori, Tenshi no Ichigo, Kaorino, Sachinoka, and Amaekubo. From these, the three most delicious varieties are used to make sweets, and you can compare the taste of each strawberry.
On this day, three varieties were available: Amaou, Koiminori, and Tenshi no Ichigo.
Amaou strawberries have a rich appearance and flavor, and are full of juice.
Koiminori is characterized by its soft, sweet fragrance with a subtle sourness behind the sweetness.
Angel Strawberries are a rare white strawberry that is produced in small quantities and is characterized by its rich sweetness and sourness.
You can choose between "Milk Jelly" or "Yame Matcha Jelly" for your jelly, and I ordered the "Milk Jelly" this time.
It's delicious as is, but it can also be enjoyed in a variety of other ways, such as with strawberries or with the separately served "Yame Matcha Milk" or "Golden White Honey Milk."
For ice cream, you can choose between "Amaou Strawberry Ice Cream" or "Yame Matcha Ice Cream." I ordered the "Amaou Strawberry Ice Cream."
The ice cream, made with plenty of strawberries, had a rich flavor.
The shop's handmade shiratama has a chewy and elastic texture. We recommend eating it with the "Hokkaido red bean paste" or "Amaou sweet bean paste" that comes with it.
In addition, a "Matcha Experience Set" is included, so you can make your own matcha and enjoy it in an authentic atmosphere.
Even if you don't know how to make tea, there is a detailed explanation on paper, so you don't have to worry.
Ice Monaka and 3 kinds of strawberries (matcha experience set)
The "Ice Cream Monaka and Three Kinds of Strawberry (Matcha Experience Set)" (1,500 yen) is a very filling treat.
Inside the crispy mochi is your choice of ice cream (Amaou strawberry ice cream or Yame matcha ice cream), bean paste, shiratama, and Amaou strawberries. I chose the "Amaou strawberry ice cream" to get the full strawberry flavor.
It was a truly luxurious monaka, where you could enjoy sweet and sour strawberries, sweet bean paste, cold ice cream, and chewy rice flour dumplings all at the same time.
With this menu, you can compare the taste of three types of strawberries picked at "Kajugura Farm Asakura" and also have a "matcha experience"♪
Strawberry Daifuku
The "Strawberry Daifuku" (500 yen each) has surprisingly large strawberries! They use seasonal varieties at the time, and on the day, they were Amaou and Tenshi strawberries.
The sweet and sour taste of the strawberries and the refined sweetness of the daifuku matched perfectly, and even though they were big, they were so delicious I could eat them all in one go.
There is also a strawberry drink menu!
Yame Matcha Amaou Strawberry Milk
The spring-like "Yame Matcha Amaou Strawberry Milk" (900 yen) is a popular drink on the menu.
The sweetness of the strawberry milk combined with the bitterness of the matcha created a well-balanced flavor.
Fruit and Japanese black tea
The "Fruit Japanese Black Tea" (600 yen) comes in three varieties: Amaou, peach, and mandarin orange. I ordered the Amaou this time.
This fruit tea is made with Yame black tea and dried fruits from Kyushu, and when poured into a cup, the strawberry aroma stands out.
It's not too sweet, so it goes perfectly with any dessert menu.
Homemade luxurious Amaou strawberry milk
The "Homemade Luxurious Amaou Strawberry Milk" (1,400 yen, makes about 2 cups) allows you to make your own "special drink" using the original white honey milk and 7 to 9 Amaou strawberries!
There were also other drinks available such as "Coffee" (480 yen) and "Cafe Latte" (520 yen).
The strawberry-based sweets and drink menu will be available until the end of April 2024.
The same dessert menu has different varieties depending on the season, so you'll want to visit "Kajugura Fruits Kobo Shirogane" again and again. Be sure to stop by to try some fresh fruit. (Text by hicho_cafe)
