[Tenjin Lunch] Don't just eat breakfast! A limited-time menu from "Bills Fukuoka"

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

Bills serves ricotta pancakes, which are said to be the "world's best breakfast." In fact, their lunch and dinner dishes are also very popular. But pancakes aren't the only attraction!

This time, we will introduce some of the featured menu items that will be available at the Fukuoka store until late March 2024.

All-day dining restaurant from Sydney, "Bills Fukuoka" (Nishinakasu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)

Bills is an all-day dining restaurant from Sydney, Australia, known for its ricotta pancakes and scrambled eggs, which have caused a huge boom. There are eight stores in Japan, and Bills Fukuoka is located in Suijo Park, which is located on the border between Tenjin and Nakasu, about a three-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the Subway Airport Line.

This is the first floor of "SHIP'S GARDEN," a building with a ship motif.

Surrounded by large windows, this open and stylish space offers breakfast, lunch, cafe, afternoon tea and dinner, all available throughout the day.

The concept is "spice cuisine from around the world"! Must-try menu items

In addition to standard menu items such as "Ricotta Pancakes - Fresh Banana, Honeycomb Butter" (1,900 yen), bills Fukuoka changes its menu twice a year and introduces new limited-time items.

The autumn/winter menu, available until late March 2024, is based on the concept of "spice dishes from around the world." You can enjoy the international flavors that are unique to "Bills," combining colorful ingredients with spices and herbs that are popular on the dining tables of various countries.

This is the "Crudités - Fresh Vegetable, Walnut and Miso Dip" (1,300 yen), available for lunch and dinner. This is a vegan menu item.

This dish is inspired by the traditional sauce "anchoillade" from the south of France, which is usually made with olive oil, anchovies and garlic, but this dish uses walnuts and miso instead.

The smooth sauce, with the richness of miso, brought out the flavor of the fresh vegetables.

Next, we have the breakfast/lunch menu item "Homemade XO Sauce and Mushroom Fried Rice - Japanese Pepper, Daikon Radish, Ginger, Poached Egg" (2,100 yen).

Usually, "XO sauce" is made from seafood, but here they use homemade XO sauce made from mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, shallots, etc., so that vegans can also enjoy it. Vegans can choose to have it without the poached egg.

It was finished with a ponzu dressing, which gave it a very refreshing and light taste. The balance of the umami and sourness of the mushrooms was exquisite. It was very filling and I was full♪

This is a beautifully colored Asian plate called "Grilled Salmon with Nishikyo Marinade - White Miso & Gochujang, Fried Eggplant, Herb Salad, Mirin Sauce" (2,200 yen). It can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.

Juicy grilled salmon is served with Bills' special Kyoto miso sauce, which is a mix of gochujang, white miso, mirin, and other ingredients.

The sauce was rich and sweet, and delicious! It was also nice to be able to enjoy a variety of textures with the deep-fried eggplant, which was full of flavor, and the crunchy vegetables.

You can also add brown rice for an additional 300 yen.

For dessert, we recommend the "Baked Cheesecake - Hazelnut and Buckwheat Crumble, Blueberry Compote" (1,400 yen), which is also available for lunch and dinner.

This gluten-free dish has a sour lemon accent. The contrast between the smooth texture of the rich cake and the crunchy texture of the biscuits and hazelnuts is amazing!

When eaten with the accompanying hibiscus and blueberry compote, it added a sour taste that made it even more refreshing. It wasn't too sweet, so I was able to eat it all in one go after a meal.

The drinks that go with the menu introduced this time are, from the left in the photo, "Ginger Daiquiri - White Cane Syrup, Homemade Ginger Syrup, Lime Juice" (1,000 yen) and "Sake Gimlet - Bills House Sake, Gin, Lime Juice" (800 yen).

The "Ginger Daiquiri" that I drank was a non-alcoholic cocktail. It had a strong ginger flavor with a hint of sweetness, and a refreshing taste. It went perfectly with the meal.

Please take this opportunity to try out the limited-time menu items. (Text: Hakata Aya.)
