Plenty of strawberries and cream for just 850 yen! A limited-time, exquisite parfait (Fujisaki, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello. I'm Ayu.latte, a writer who loves delicious fruit. I also love cafes, and have visited over 1,800 cafes to date.
This time, we will be introducing some not-an-apple, eat-in only sweets that have appeared at a store specializing in delicious candy apples.
Also check out the dine-in only sweets! Candy apple specialty store "Seasonal Candy Apples Applety" (Fujisaki, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City)
"Seasonal Candy Apple Applety," a specialty store for candy apples, opened in Fujisaki, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City in April 2022.
The store's name is a combination of the words "apple" and "pretty."
The origin of the apples they use changes depending on the season, and they mainly use carefully selected apples from Aomori and Nagano prefectures that are grown with reduced pesticides, as well as apples sent directly from farmers in Iwate prefecture.
In addition to the origin, the varieties also change depending on the season. Currently they are focusing on "Sun Fuji," which has a balance of fresh sweetness and moderate acidity, and "Shinano Gold," which has a crisp texture, a good balance of sweetness and acidity, and is full of juice.
In addition, if there are any seasonal varieties that go well with the candy, they will use them, which shows their attention to detail.
The standard candy apple varieties are "Plain" (550 yen), "Buttermilk" (650 yen), and "Cacao" (650 yen). For an additional 50 yen, you can have them cut into bite-sized pieces. The candy is free of food additives and colorings, and is thinly coated to give it a crispy texture.
*Prices are for take-out. If you choose to eat in, add 10 yen each.
Although many people use this restaurant for takeout, there are two tables that seat three people inside. In fact, the menu that is only available for eat-in is attracting a lot of attention!
A round glass filled with strawberries! The "Strawberry Parfait" is a limited-time only eat-in menu item.
The Strawberry Parfait (850 yen) is available exclusively for eat-in during the Strawberry Fair, which runs from February 3, 2024 to late April (planned). It was created in response to a request from customers who wanted to try desserts other than apples.
It contains about seven strawberries, and the sides of the cute, round glass are decorated with sliced strawberries. As you'd expect from a store that specializes in candy apples, it's also decorated with candy crafts, making for a super cute visual!
It's also super cute when viewed from above! You can see the attention to detail in the containers, and you'll be excited even before you start eating.
Apparently the strawberries they use vary depending on the season. The strawberries on this day were very sweet and had a rich flavor. My expectations were building from the first bite!
Beneath the generous layer of fresh cream lies sponge cake, homemade strawberry gelato, and cocoa cookies.
The homemade strawberry gelato was rich and refreshing! It kept on being delicious right to the very end.
"Strawberry candy" will also be available only during the fair period
During the "Strawberry Fair" you can also enjoy two types of "Strawberry Candy"!
This is "Strawberry Candy" on a skewer (400 yen per stick). The number of strawberries varies depending on the size, but usually there are about 3 to 4.
When you crack open this candy, which is just the right thickness, you'll be surprised! Sweet strawberry juice will gush out. It's so juicy, you'll get addicted to its deliciousness!
It melts easily, so please eat it as soon as possible.
This is "Strawberry Farmer's Strawberry Candy" (500 yen). Thin candy is wrapped around the surface of the strawberry, giving it a fresh texture!
They use strawberries delivered directly from Munakata's "Naturesh Farm," and currently offer three varieties to choose from, including "Yotsuboshi" and "Toukun."
As its name suggests, "Momo-kaoru" is a strawberry that smells like peach and does not turn red even when ripe, but is a light pink color. "Yotsuboshi" has a good balance of acidity and sweetness, and is rich and delicious. It is a rare variety that is very soft and not widely available.
There is also a limited-time "strawberry version of candy apple" available! The photo shows the "Strawberry Candy Apple" (650 yen) covered in a light pink strawberry-flavored powder. It's so cute! There is also a "Strawberry Buttermilk" (650 yen) which has the added richness of butter.
They also sell apples in the store. Just like the candy apples, the varieties they carry change depending on the season, and sometimes they have as many as five or six varieties on display!
You can also buy apples that are slightly bruised for a reasonable price, which is perfect for home use.
Candy apples are often associated with festivals and fairs, but it's great that they can be enjoyed any time of the year! Now is the perfect time to stop by and try some of the "strawberry sweets" available! (Text by ayu.latte)
