The much talked about cafe has arrived in Fukuoka! The ultimate melting Basque cheesecake to enjoy at the water table (in front of Kashii Station)
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce "GUF FUKUOKA", which will open tomorrow, Saturday, February 10, 2024!
A new popular store in Shin-Okubo has opened! A cafe with a large "water table": "GUF FUKUOKA" (in front of Kashii Station, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City)
GUF FUKUOKA is located on the 7th floor of a building right next to JR Kashii Station.
This is the Fukuoka branch of the much talked about cafe in Shin-Okubo, Tokyo, where you can enjoy sweets and drinks at the "Water Table."
It is produced by Hanuri, which operates over 10 stores mainly in the Kanto region and Kyoto, including the rooftop bar PALLE TOKYO and the churros specialty store churros de paris.
The store's name "GUF" is apparently derived from the "guf guf" sound that the store's mascot dog, Choa, makes.
Apparently, he is sometimes in the shop, so if you happen to see him, you're lucky.
The interior of the restaurant is based on white and white tiles, and features a large table filled with water.
When you place sweets or drinks on top of this, it looks as if they are floating on water.
It was a very innovative style and I was excited!
Amazingly soft and creamy texture! "Melting Basque Cheesecake" is a Fukuoka exclusive
The dessert menu includes "Melting Basque Cheesecake," made from an original recipe.
There are four flavors to choose from: "Plain" (690 yen) as pictured, "Matcha" (790 yen), "Chocolate" (790 yen), and the Fukuoka-exclusive "Brulée" (790 yen).
They use domestic ingredients, mainly from Hokkaido, and cook them to a perfect degree.
It was incredibly thick and smooth, and I couldn't get enough of it.
It is apparently combined with a light cream to keep it from being too heavy, and I finished it all in no time.
This is "Brulée", which is only available in Fukuoka.
One side of a plain melting Basque cheesecake is brulee'd until crispy.
The savory flavor of the crepe crepe and the creamy taste of the cheesecake went perfectly together and was very delicious.
This is "Matcha." They use carefully selected high-grade matcha from Kyoto and mix it generously into the batter.
The matcha flavor was direct and rich.
This is the "Chocolate" version, which uses plenty of chocolate in the dough.
It was rich, with a good balance of the sweetness of the chocolate and the sourness and creaminess of the cheese.
The chocolate will be available only in February, and the "Hojicha" will be available from March. Like the brulee, the hojicha will also be available only in Fukuoka.
Also, new menu items will be introduced every season.
The cups with the logo are so cute ♡ Don't miss out on their original drink, the Ring Latte!
To go with the cheesecake, we recommend trying the "Ring Latte" (750 yen each).
There are three flavors available: matcha, chocolate, and coffee, and they are only served hot.
This time, I chose two flavors: "Chocolate" (left) and "Matcha" (right).
The cream was surrounded by a ring of chocolate powder and matcha, giving it a cute appearance.
Another recommendation is the "Caffe Latte" (630 yen), which looks like a gushing espresso pouring down.
It uses Ethiopian beans that have a strong sour taste, and when combined with milk it gives off just the right amount of sweetness and a refreshing aftertaste.
Not only the atmosphere, but the cheesecake and drinks were all packed with care.
Come and enjoy a wonderful cafe time in this one-of-a-kind space! (Text by chippachapus)
