This time, we will introduce you to a wonderful restaurant in Iizuka City.
A casual Italian restaurant loved by locals: "FELICE BASIL Iizuka Branch" (Iizuka City)
Felice Basil Iizuka is a five-minute drive from JR Shin-Iizuka Station, located along National Route 201. This popular restaurant offers a wide variety of pasta and pizza, as well as authentic Italian cuisine.
There are also stores in Tenjin, Hakata, and Futsukaichi, but this is the main store. The cute exterior that resembles a European mansion is the landmark.

Usually, going to an Italian restaurant with children can be a bit daunting, so it's hard to go, but this place has a child-friendly atmosphere, with even Bumbo chairs available.

As we visited on a weekend lunchtime, the restaurant was almost full, proving that it is a popular restaurant loved by locals.
Enjoy either lunch or dinner! Approximately 40 types of pasta
At FELICE BASIL Iizuka store, you can enjoy over 40 types of pasta, from standard menu items to seasonal specials.
This is the extremely popular "Waterfall-like Raclette Cheese Tomato Sauce Pasta" (1,573 yen).

A simple tomato sauce pasta dish is topped with a literal waterfall of piping hot raclette cheese, right in front of you.

A gorgeous item that is sure to stand out.
If you lift the melted cheese with a fork, you'll see this! It stretches so much that it won't fit in the frame.

The sweetness of the cheese neutralised it nicely, but at the same time it had a very rich flavour.
This is the limited-edition "Oyster and Prosciutto Cream Pasta" (1,518 yen). *Scheduled to be on sale until the end of February 2024.
I ordered the salad and soup set for an additional 330 yen.

They are particular about using oysters from Hiroshima Prefecture, which are in season now, and this dish comes with three large oysters on top.

It goes well with the shop's signature cream sauce, and has an excellent synergistic effect with the salty prosciutto.

Apparently the oysters were sauteed together with the cream sauce, and the aroma of oysters permeated the entire pasta dish - it was absolutely delicious!
Also noteworthy is the pizza, which comes with a choice of two types of crust!
There are two types of pizza available: a thin Roman dough made from a blend of several types of Italian flour, and a thick, crispy pie dough, with a wide variety of menu items for each.
This is the "Bacon, Soft-boiled Egg, Carbonara-Style Pizza" (small size 1,518 yen) made with thin Roman dough.

It is topped with a generous amount of crispy bacon, and when you crack the soft-boiled egg in the middle, the runny yolk oozes out.

The crust is thin and crispy. It has a light texture that makes it hard to stop eating! It also has a good balance with the rich carbonara-style ingredients.
