[Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine] A must-try when eating your way around! Delicious take-out fried chicken that you can eat endlessly

The approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is known as the "food street," where a variety of takeaway items, including Umegae-mochi, are available.

Among them, I would like to introduce my recommended takeaway options.

Dazaifu SUGIRU (Dazaifu City): 15 different types of fried chicken are extremely popular! Perfect for eating on the go!

Just a two-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station, the first place I always stop by is Dazaifu SUGIRU, a fried chicken takeout shop located on the left at the first torii gate on the approach to the shrine.

Dazaifu Bananaju is a banana juice specialty store that reopened in December 2022.

There are 15 types of fried chicken on the menu. The prices are "1 cup" (3-4 pieces for 500 yen *Chicken Nanban is 600 yen), "Half & Half" (2 types, 2 pieces each for 700 yen), and "Lunch Pack" (6-8 pieces for 950 yen).

Let's try it!

This time, I ordered the "Half & Half" of "Yangnyeom Chicken" and "Plum and Shiso" to try two different flavors.

The Yangnyeom Chicken looks different from the last time I had it, and now it has almonds on top.

The taste seems to have changed a bit though...

Ah, I think I like this one better! It's more powerful!

What is it, there's a little bit of sweetness behind the spiciness? It's like a sweet and spicy taste.

If I was really hungry, I could easily eat 10 of them. If I had encountered them when I was in high school, I would have stuffed them endlessly. They're so delicious.

I wondered if it would go well with the plum and shiso, but I decided to try it. The plum aroma was evaporated by the heat of the fried chicken, and it smelled amazing.

If you don't like spicy food, you should definitely choose this.

After the initial flavor of salty plum and shiso, the subtle juices and umami of the chicken spread throughout your mouth - it's absolutely amazing.

For those who don't like spicy food, we also recommend "honey mustard".

By the way, although fried chicken is the main dish, you can also enjoy the "Banana Juice with Too Much Banana" (700 yen), which is limited to 30 cups per day.
