A variety of breads that can only be tasted here! Also great as a gift ◎ A popular store that has just arrived in Kyushu for the first time (Ropponmatsu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts information about Fukuoka, mainly about cafes, on Instagram.

This time, we would like to introduce a “unusual” bakery that opened on December 13, 2023.

The first in Kyushu! Cute-looking bean paste bread shop "PANTES" (Ropponmatsu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

"PANTES" is a bakery that opened about a four-minute walk from Ropponmatsu Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

This is the first time this popular store has opened in Kyushu, but it originated in Fukui Prefecture and has branches in the Kanto and Kansai regions. Their specialty is their "anko shokupan" (sweet bean paste bread).

Inside the store, about 16 types of bread were lined up along the wall.

Apparently all the bread is delivered from Fukui every day.

I would like to introduce all the breads, but this time I will introduce the four that I especially recommend.

A variety of rare breads that can only be tasted here

Red bean paste bread

The "An Shokupan" bread comes in two varieties: smooth bean paste and whole bean paste (390 yen for one slice, 720 yen for two slices).

Both are popular, but the koshian paste is apparently the most popular item at the Ropponmatsu store.

The bread is filled with plenty of red bean paste, swirled inside.

The chewy and moist texture of the bread goes perfectly with the red bean paste!

It's delicious as is, but it's also delicious toasted with lots of butter or topped with ice cream.

Butter-soaked bread

The next most popular item after the "An Shokupan" is the "Butter-soaked Shokupan" (580 yen).

This bread is made with Danish dough and has a strong buttery aroma.

It's a large loaf of bread.

When you cut into it, you'll be delighted to find that it's packed with cultured Swiss butter.

When you toast it, the butter inside oozes out!

If you cut it thick, you can enjoy the crispy surface and fluffy texture inside. Try cutting it to your liking.

Two types of mini-clothes

The "Two Kinds of Mini Clover" (450 yen) comes with three plain and three chocolate ones.

It's crispy on the outside and moist inside, with a strong buttery taste that makes it delicious.

They are bite-sized, so they are perfect for satisfying a small appetite.

Another recommended point is the generous use of chocolate.

Edamame and Cheese

"Edamame & Cheese" toast (390 yen) allows you to enjoy the two textures and flavors of edamame and cheese.

It has a wonderful aroma and is the perfect accompaniment to alcoholic drinks.

We also recommend heating it up with sliced cheese on top, which will add a more cheesy flavor to your meal.

In addition to the standard products, they also sell a monthly changing sweet bread.

In January 2024, "Caramel Apple" (430 yen) will be available, offering the aroma of caramel and sweet and sour apple filling.
