A delicious selection of sweets all at once! "A secret base-like cafe" Christmas plate (Ohiromachi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

This time, I'd like to introduce you to a cafe where you can enjoy cute sweets and drinks, a place I visit again and again.

A white building resembling a secret base is an entire cafe! "alu" (Oobacho, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

Alu is located on a back street just off Taihaku-dori, which connects Fukuoka Sunpalace to Hakata Station. It is a 10-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Hakozaki Line. There are many paid parking lots nearby, so it is an easy-to-access location.

This three-story pure white building, from the first to the third floor, is an entire cafe!

It's been three years since the cafe opened. At first, the eat-in space was only on the first floor, but now the second and third floors are also available.

First, you order on the first floor. There is also a terrace seat on the first floor, and one table inside the restaurant.

After placing your order, you exit the store through the outer door and head to the eat-in space on the second and third floors.

Limited time offer until December 25th! Two types of Christmas plates available

Two types of Christmas plates will be available for a limited time from Friday, December 1st to Monday, December 25th, 2023.

Each plate is a luxurious offering of three different sweets.

I really wanted to try both flavors, so I decided to share them with my friends!

Christmas Plate A (1,300 yen)

"Christmas Plate A" comes with three treats: shortcake, blancmange, and chocolate choux.

Each one is mini-sized, so they're not too filling and can be enjoyed as an after-meal dessert.

The main attraction is strawberry shortcake!

The three layers of brown sponge cake are soaked in espresso instead of chocolate, giving it a slightly more mature taste.

The cream is mixed with plenty of mascarpone cheese, almost like tiramisu. It's so fluffy and light in texture that I couldn't help but eat it all in one go.

It contains chopped chocolate, which is a nice accent! You can also enjoy plenty of strawberries.

The chocolate choux pastry is made with a generous amount of cocoa and is filled with bitter chocolate custard, fresh cream, and caramel sauce. It is garnished with a cute gingerbread man cookie with plenty of spices.

Next to it is blancmange. Blancmange is a milk-based dessert with added cream and almonds. It looks like panna cotta or bavarois, but when you eat it, you can clearly see the difference. It is served with a sweet and sour berry sauce!

It was a plate with a combination of dishes that had an adult flavor.

Christmas Plate B (1,200 yen)

The other type, "Christmas Plate B," is served with three items: "Roll cake," "Otaku pudding," and "Basque cheesecake."

This luxurious roll cake is made with fluffy sponge cake, smooth and lightly sweetened fresh cream with condensed milk, and a large strawberry! It is also topped with another strawberry.

It would be a shame to eat it as it will lose its shape, but let's eat it!

It was so delicious that I couldn't help but smile ♡

The signature product of "alu", "Daihaku Pudding", has a very smooth texture! Once you try it, you'll be hooked. This also comes with a cookie.

And the "Basque Cheesecake" which is not on the regular menu is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside! It can only be enjoyed on this plate, so be sure to check it out.
