Freshly baked tarts and cakes are delicious! A stylish cafe that quietly opened in a residential area and is gaining attention (Tamagawa-cho, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce ``so-sou'', which opened on August 17, 2023!
Quietly opened in a residential area! So-sou, a stylish cafe on the first floor of an apartment building (Tamagawa-cho, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City)
"So-sou" is located in Tamagawa-cho, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, about a six-minute walk from Nishitetsu Takamiya Station.
This is a cafe where you can casually enjoy cakes supervised by a pastry chef and baked goods that are baked every morning.
The shop was modeled after a warehouse overseas, and most of the interior was hand-made, including the counters, tables, and benches.
There are counter seats where you can comfortably dine alone, as well as small table seats.
A luxurious treat that's almost like a cake! A rare square-shaped "tart"
First, we will introduce three classic types of tarts.
From the left, "Blackberry Tart" (650 yen), "Almond Tart" (650 yen), and "Lemon Tart" (650 yen).
Our homemade square tart dough is filled with cream, jam, and other fillings and then baked.
It's about 1.5 times the size of a typical tart, and feels so voluminous it's like eating a cake.
The "Lemon Tart" is filled with rhubarb jam, lemon cream, and lemon meringue from the bottom up.
The lemon meringue has a caramelized surface and has a soft sweetness, sourness, and a slight bitterness.
The lemon cream inside had a strong lemon flavor and a sweet and sour, refreshing taste.
The Blackberry Tart is filled with almond cream, blackberry jam, and blackberries from the bottom up.
It was filled with chunks of blackberries, which added a crunchy texture and sweet and sour flavor.
The Almond Tart is filled with almond cream, praline paste, and roasted almonds from the bottom up.
In addition to the generous amount of almonds, there were also hidden walnuts, making this a tart that allowed you to directly taste the savory flavor of the nuts.
All tarts are available in limited quantities, so if you're interested, we recommend you make a reservation in advance (reservations can be made up to 6:00 p.m. the day before).
A novel style "white tiramisu" and a work of art-like "rich chocolate terrine"
There are four types of desserts that can only be enjoyed when eating in, and this time I ordered the two recommended types.
The first one is "White Tiramisu" (700 yen). As the name suggests, this tiramisu is mainly white and is presented in a novel style.
Serve with coffee sauce if you like.
The white part is a mix of mascarpone and cream cheese, giving it a milky, slightly sour taste.
It had a light and fluffy texture, and the crunchy crumble at the bottom added a nice touch.
The meringue cookie topping and the slightly salty tuile were also delicious.
The second is "Chocolate Terrine" (650 yen).
Under the chocolate terrine, which is drenched in chocolate sauce, is a layer of black cocoa cream that looks like a work of art.
The terrine was very smooth and melted in the mouth, with a good balance of sweetness and bitterness. The chocolate sauce enhanced the richness of the chocolate flavor.
A wide variety of American cookies and other hand-made baked goods baked every morning
These are baked goods that are baked fresh one by one every morning.
There are cookies, scones, canelés and more.
The cookies are American-sized and sweet enough to satisfy even with just one.
All of them were thick and satisfying to eat.
There are so many varieties to choose from, such as the "Matcha S'more" (300 yen) topped with marshmallows, and the "Pistachio Cherry" (300 yen) with cherries kneaded into the dough, it's hard to decide which one to get!
This is "Scone" (250 yen).
The top was caramelized and crunchy, while the inside was moist and crumbly, with a rich buttery sweetness.
This is the "Canelé (Plain)" (250 yen).
It's crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the taste is irresistible.
Please try it with coffee or other drinks.
In addition to coffee, we also recommend lattes made with homemade syrup.
The shop is located in a quiet area, a little distance from urban areas such as Daimyo and Tenjin.
