This time, we will introduce you to a ramen restaurant near Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

Right next to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station! Enjoy ramen and pork rice bowls at "Ramen Oigen" (Dazaifu City)

Ramen Oigen is located in an extremely accessible location, just a one-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station.

This popular restaurant was originally located in Kego, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, but moved to Dazaifu and reopened in February 2023.

There are only 12 counter seats inside the store.

To order, you purchase a meal ticket from the ticket machine.

There are two types of ramen: tonkotsu and soy sauce. The "Tonkotsu Ramen" (720 yen) is characterized by its rich soup made from pig skulls, and the "Shrimp-Fragrant Soy Sauce Ramen" (850 yen) is made with chicken broth and special shrimp oil.

Toppings include "boiled egg" (150 yen), "charcoal grilled pork belly" (200 yen), "green onion" (150 yen), and "menma" (150 yen).

There were also side dishes such as "5 pieces of fried dumplings" (280 yen) and "white rice" (150 yen).

On this day, I ordered the most popular "Tonkotsu Ramen Charcoal Grilled Pork Rice Set" (1,300 yen).

First, we start with the "Tonkotsu Ramen." It looks simple, but the grilled pork slices make a big impact.

It's so big when you pick it up with chopsticks!

The pork slices are roasted over charcoal after an order is placed, giving them an irresistible aroma. They are full of umami and enhance the flavor of the ramen.

The noodles are homemade thin noodles.

The soup is quite rich and the noodles are well mixed together, making it very tasty.

My favorite is the super spicy wood ear mushroom. Just adding a little bit dramatically changes the flavor and doubles the deliciousness.

I recommend adding it when you've eaten about half the ramen or when you order a second bowl. It's quite spicy, so be careful not to add too much, no matter how delicious it is (lol).

And this is the set "Charcoal Grilled Pork Rice Bowl." Two types of roasted pork, shoulder loin and roasted pork belly, and luxurious rice topped with pickled egg yolk are served in a small bento box.

Its appearance will make you want to do a fist pump the moment you open it. Just by looking at it, you can be 100% sure it's delicious.

In fact, after just one bite, I couldn't stop grinning.

The seared pork belly is fragrant and juicy, while the shoulder loin cooked at low temperature is meltingly tender!

Being able to enjoy these two at the same time is so luxurious. Mixing it with the yolk and biting into it will make you feel even happier.

By the way, please note that the Charcoal Grilled Pork Rice Bowl cannot be ordered as a single item.

Both the ramen and the pork belly were delicious and very satisfying. I highly recommend it!
