If you have lived in Yame for a long time, do you remember a restaurant called "Tetsunabe"?

It was a historic store, but it suddenly closed down about 10 years ago.

"I really want to taste that again."

With this in mind, the owner, who had no cooking experience, made and ate gyoza every day for three years, repeating trial and error to recreate that nostalgic taste. He has finally succeeded in recreating that taste, and we would like to taste the fruit of that effort and hard work.

The legendary taste of gyoza is back! "Otsumami Gyoza Tetsunabe Tantan" (Yame City)

So, we arrived at Tachibanacho, Yame City.

I drove about 20 minutes from Hirokawa IC on the Kyushu Expressway, relying on my smartphone, and discovered "Otsumami Gyoza Tetsunabe Tan Tan" in the garden of a private home.

Although the restaurant primarily offers take-out, it is also possible to dine in (up to one group at a time).

Personally, I'd like to eat it freshly made, but even so, isn't 450 yen for 10 "Iron Pot Gyoza" a little cheap?

About five minutes after ordering, the iron pot arrived, popping with an irresistible sizzle.

The thick iron plate is sizzling, and the aroma rising with the steam is irresistible.

The size is small, roughly bite-sized.

First, I'll go with nothing attached.

It's not meaty at all. The filling is made mainly from vegetables and is tasty, but I'm a little skeptical about whether it has the unique taste that makes it legendary.

First off, some recommended seasonings.

They have homemade chili oil prepared, so I'll try adding that.

Wow! This is it! I see!

It wasn't until the second one that I finally understood the refreshing taste of these gyoza and the exquisite spiciness of the chili oil.

This combination is addictive!

In fact, as I continued to eat these gyoza, I realized that it is precisely because they don't have a strong flavor that I can eat them forever.

Be sure to also try our carefully prepared "horse belly" and "grilled horse innards"!

Aside from gyoza, the other recommended item is the "Umabara" (400 yen per pack). Of course, you can also take it out.

This is so damn Torontol.

Apparently it is simmered slowly for three days to complete the dish before being served.

Isn't it amazing that it only costs 400 yen considering all the time and effort that goes into making it?

Next, there is "Grilled Horse Offal" (600 yen per pack), which may or may not be available depending on the day. If you can find it, please give it a try.
