[Nakasu Lunch] Treat yourself to a delicious lunchtime meal at this exquisite eel restaurant run by a one-star chef (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time, we will be introducing an eel restaurant produced by Kappo Ajimi, a one-star restaurant in the Michelin Guide Fukuoka/Saga 2014 Special Edition.

A new brand from a popular Japanese restaurant! Lunchtime only "Unagi no Eight" (Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

The popular Japanese restaurant "Kappo Ajimi" opens at 5 p.m. Taking advantage of the restaurant's free time, "Unagi no Eight" opened on August 1, 2023, as a lunchtime-only restaurant.

What kind of dishes will this one-star chef, representing Fukuoka, create focusing on eel, a Fukuoka specialty? Expectations are high!

There are customizable private rooms! The luxurious space is appealing.

The interior of the restaurant is a luxurious, adult space with counter seats surrounding the kitchen.

Excellent eel dish, with a choice of "steamed" or "grilled"

Currently, there are only two types of set menu: steamed or grilled eel.

Steamed eel meal

This is the "Unagi Bamboo Steamed Eel Meal" (3,850 yen). It comes with a small side dish, pickles, wasabi, seaweed, and pudding.

Carefully selected eel is grilled and served on top of rolled omelet made with "jiko eggs" from Miyawaka City, Fukuoka, on rice coated in a special sauce and steamed in a bamboo steamer, making this a visually stunning dish.

After just one bite, you'll be amazed at how plump and tasty the eel is! The delicious taste of the eel will fill your mouth.

After eating about half of the ramen, you can pour the broth over it to make it "Hitsumabushi style." The broth is heated on a small stove in front of you, so you can enjoy it piping hot.

The sauce-soaked rice, carefully selected eel and beef, and fluffy eggs are all placed in a stone pot. The beef is also carefully seasoned to go well with the eel.

Enjoy the savory crust that forms in a hot stone pot.

The sight of the cheese being grated at the end is sure to look great on Instagram!

It's so luxurious to be able to enjoy both eel and beef! The flavors all come together in one dish, which is irresistible. It's also very filling.

Like the [Unagi Baked in a Steamer Gozen], you can customize this dish to your liking by adding additional toppings.

Both meals come with a pudding as a dessert after the meal.

It was a wonderful lunchtime that satisfied both my stomach and my heart.
