A luxurious seafood bowl and delicious udon noodles filled with Hokkaido salmon roe that gourmet writers keep coming back to (Maizuru, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)

Hello. This is Chihilog, a casual blog that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.

This time, I'd like to introduce one of my favorite restaurants in Maizuru, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka!

"Fukuoka Ikura Iedon Yoshiyoshi" (Maizuru, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City), a specialty store for salmon roe rice bowls, bokkake and abura-kasu udon noodles

"Fukuoka Ikura Iedon Yoshiyoshi" is located about a 5-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Subway Kuko Line.

Opened in February 2021, this restaurant specializes in ikura donburi, bokkake and abura kasu udon, which originated in Kobe.

The restaurant mainly has counter seating, so it's fun to eat while chatting with the staff!

At the back, there is a stylish semi-private room where you can relax and unwind.

Great value set! The "Seafood Ikura Rice Bowl and Sea Bream Soup Set" changes daily

The specialty salmon roe bowl is made with a generous amount of carefully selected Hokkaido salmon roe.

Because we are particular about the ingredients, no matter how much you eat, it stays delicious until the last bite!

The menu includes the "Raw Ikura Rice Bowl" (2,750 yen) made with raw salmon roe, the "Pickled Ikura Rice Bowl" (2,600 yen) made with pickled salmon roe that has been marinated overnight in soup stock, and the "Raw and Pickled Ikura Rice Bowl" (2,700 yen), which lets you enjoy both.

In addition to the standard ikura donburi, they also have a daily special "Seafood ikura donburi and sea bream soup set" with shrimp, salmon, and other toppings. There are four types on weekdays, but more types are available on weekends. The set comes with a daily side dish, pickled takana, and sea bream soup.

On this day, I ordered the "Shrimp and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl and Sea Bream Soup Set" (2,000 yen) and the "Bokkake and Abura-kasu Udon" (1,100 yen).

The "Shrimp and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl" is topped with a little extravagance, such as "Sea Urchin" (large 1,600 yen, small 800 yen *the smaller portion is shown in the photo) and "Tsukimi" (plus 55 yen).

It's a surprise as to whether the ikura you get will be fresh or pickled! This time it came with pickled ikura.

There are a whopping five extremely fresh domestic red shrimp! They are meaty and plump.

The sea urchin used is also domestically produced. On the day I went, it was from Hokkaido. I ordered a "small portion," but there was plenty and I was very satisfied! It was also rich in flavor.

The counter is lined with wooden boxes of sea urchin that have been delivered up until now.

If you're curious about where the sea urchins come from, be sure to ask the staff.

The rice used in the bowls comes from Teshima Farm in Asakura City, whose taste the manager was so impressed with. It is cooked with bonito stock and kelp to go perfectly with the salmon roe.

It is plump and glossy, and brings out the deliciousness of the salmon roe and seafood.

The soy sauce that goes with the salmon roe rice bowl is specially made after learning from a sushi chef what works best for the dish.

The Ariake nori seaweed on the table is incredibly delicious even when eaten raw!

Please try pairing it with a bowl of rice. It will make it even more delicious.

The side dish for the day was hiyayakko (cold tofu), a perfect palate cleanser.

"Bokkake and Abura-kasu Udon" - a delicious dish you'll want to return to

"Bokkake Abura-kasu Udon" originated in Kobe. When I first tried it here, I was shocked by how delicious it was, and it has been my favorite ever since.

The base is made from elegantly flavored sea bream stock blended with homemade udon stock.

The soup is packed with the delicious flavors of sweet and spicy cooked beef tendons and fried rice cakes.

The chewy and soft noodles go perfectly with the mild-tasting broth.

It's so delicious that it permeates your body, making you want to eat it again and again.
