Open only once a week in the evening, this cafe is filled with a sense of the extraordinary and fantastical. A relaxing space near Futsukaichi Station (Chikushino City)

Hello. I'm ayu.latte, a writer who loves stylish cafes.

This time, we'll be introducing a wonderful cafe that is now open in the evening once a week in addition to its regular daytime hours.

Right next to JR Futsukaichi Station! A relaxing space at "KOSelig JAPAN cafe" (Futsukaichi Chuo, Chikushino City)

KOSelig JAPAN cafe is located in Futsukaichi Chuo, Chikushino City, a one-minute walk from JR Futsukaichi Station.

It is located on the first floor of "Nodoca," a facility operated by Chikushi Gas. There is a parking lot for five cars to the right of the front of the store, so it is convenient to go by car.

The store's name, "KOSelig," means "cozy" or "relaxing" in Norwegian. As the name suggests, it is a very comfortable store where you can relax and unwind.

The fireplace and candlelight create a great atmosphere! Open only one evening a week

Until now, it was only open during the day (until 5pm), but starting August 18, 2023, it will be open every Friday night (until 10pm). It was started with the desire to "provide a wellness space where you can have a healthy mind and body" and "for people to spend some time relaxing and "rewarding themselves" before going home on Friday after a hard week."

The counter seats facing the window are quite bright, but...

The lights in the back are dimmed, and the only light is from the glass-enclosed fireplace in the center and the soft candles placed throughout the store. It creates a perfect atmosphere.

In Scandinavia, living with fire, such as fireplaces and candles, is a norm.

Spending time relaxing while watching the fire is a special experience. Since no two flames flicker the same way, you can watch it for an eternity.

What is usually a kids' room is transformed into a very adult-like space every Friday!

The candles displayed in the store are from KOSelig JAPAN, a sister candle shop located in Hirao, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. KOSelig JAPAN cafe also has around 20 different types on sale at all times.

If you visit the cafe, you can have a candle lit on your table with your favorite scent, day or night. There are some unusual scents, such as coffee and Earl Grey, so it's hard to decide which one to choose.

The catchphrase is "TACOS NIGHT"! Drinks and food menus exclusive to the evening hours will also be available.

"KOSelig JAPAN cafe" is a restaurant where you can enjoy menus inspired by Nordic countries such as Norway.

The waffles available during lunch hours are also made using the same waffle makers used in Norwegian households.

In the evening, the bar operates under the slogan "TACOS NIGHT," in reference to the tradition of eating tacos on Friday nights in countries such as Norway.

"We hope you'll enjoy a drink and a movie with a taco in hand," he said.

Drinks include alcoholic drinks such as "Craft Beer" (4 types, 800 yen each), "Highball" (550 yen), "Lemon Highball" (650 yen), and "Craft Coke Highball" (700 yen), as well as soft drinks.

This time, I chose the soft drinks "Lemon Squash" (600 yen) and "Orange Juice" (400 yen).

The "Lemon Squash" uses butterfly pea and is a beautiful purple color.

You can also enjoy your meal at the bright counter seats by the window.

You can also enjoy a fantastical atmosphere in front of the fireplace. The charm of the evening service is that the atmosphere is completely different depending on the seat.

You can choose from the "Meat of the Day" or "Fish of the Day" tacos (650 yen each).

The menu for this day was "Meat of the Day" was "Minced meat and 5 kinds of beans with a little bit of nuts" and "Fish of the Day" was "Mackerel Ratatouille Style". I chose the "Fish of the Day".

The dough is made with Mexican corn flour, giving it a moist and soft texture. It is also packed with plenty of vegetables and mackerel, giving it a good nutritional balance.

Other snacks and sweets available include "Staff's Whims" (450 yen), "Olive & Cheese" (350 yen), "Nuts" (300 yen), and "Ice Cream" (350 yen). They also plan to start serving cocktails in the future.

In addition to being conveniently located near the station, KOSelig JAPAN cafe is appealing because it doesn't require a reservation and you can drop in whenever you like.

"When you feel your mind or body are tired, don't push yourself, but instead let yourself be healed," is the sentiment behind the store, and solo customers are also welcome to visit.

This is a recommended cafe where you can spend an extraordinary time surrounded by lots of candles and fireplaces. Please be sure to visit. (Text by ayu.latte)
