A popular Korean cafe with a selection of photogenic and exquisite sweets that will have Korean lovers flocking to the cafe (Watanabedori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello! We are the ARNE student editorial team. From now on, we will be introducing various information about Fukuoka from a student perspective.

This time, four members from Seinan Gakuin University (Kuwano, Tomonobu, Nagao, and Fukuzawa) went to a Korean cafe in Watanabedori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City!

Spend some "your own time" at the popular Korean cafe "neshigan" (Watanabedori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)

Neshigan is located in Watanabedori 5-chome, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, within a 10-minute walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, Tenjin Minami Station and Watanabedori Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

This popular Korean cafe is located in a back alley and is marked by a stylish sign.

The store's name, "Nesigang," means "my time (내 시간)" in Korean, and was chosen with the hope that customers would "cherish their own time."

By the way, in Korea, it seems that many people use the hashtag "#내시간" to post about their hobbies and ways of relaxing on social media.

The interior of the store is based on a white color scheme, creating a natural and calm atmosphere. It's a comfortable space where you'll want to spend as much time as you like.

Most of the seats are for one or two people, but there is one table at the back. No matter where you take a photo, it will look great!

The store also has a wide selection of Korean books, miscellaneous goods, stationery, etc. You can enjoy browsing while you wait for your order, or you can purchase items.

According to the owner, "People who like Korea like a lot of different things, so we've collected 'various kinds of Korea' - books, dramas, fashion!"

There are also original novels for popular Korean dramas.

The stickers, key chains, and other miscellaneous items are so cute you'll want to collect them!

If you want to take your time browsing the books and miscellaneous goods, the best time to come is between 5pm and 6pm. The peak time for customers is between 2pm and 4pm, right after lunchtime, and the shop is often full.

We tried the owner's recommended sweets and drinks!

The menu includes drinks such as coffee, ice cream, and tea, as well as sweets such as croffles. The prices on the menu are written in a Korean style, such as "4.0 (= 400 yen)".

This time, I ordered the recommended menu item recommended by the owner.

First up, we have two types of "croffles," a popular Korean dessert that is a combination of a croissant and a waffle.

This is the "Crock Oreo" (580 yen).

It's sure to look great on social media! The croffle is crispy and goes perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and Oreos on top.

This is the "Croffle Special" (680 yen). The flavor changes depending on the season, and on the day I visited it was banana.

The croffle is topped with vanilla ice cream, crispy caramelized bananas, and walnuts, making it not only delicious but also a sweet treat with a variety of textures.

These are "Neshigan Pudding" (560 yen) and "Lemon Ade" (600 yen).

"Neshigang Pudding" is a traditional firm pudding that has a retro feel and is cute ♡ It has just the right amount of sweetness, and is great when eaten with the cream and lotus biscuit on top.

"Lemon Aid" has a refreshing look and is perfect for summer! It is divided into two layers, so please mix it slowly before drinking.

This is the "Matcha Scone" (450 yen).

Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the balance of sweet white chocolate and not-too-sweet matcha is just right!

Other baked goods available include scones and butter bars in a variety of flavors.

This is the seasonal drink "Yomogi Latte" (650 yen) from "Kohaku Coffee," which rents space and operates as a "night cafe" from 6 p.m. every Wednesday.

It's apparently popular in Korea too. It's as rich in flavor as it looks, but it's not heavy and has a clean aftertaste. It's a drink you can gulp down even on a hot day.

There are also events such as Japan-Korea exchange meetings!

Normal business hours are from 12:00 to 18:00 (19:00 on Sundays), but they also hold events every week, such as the "Night Cafe", which is open from 22:00 to 23:00 after normal business hours, as well as "Japan-Korea Exchange Meetings" and "Reading Groups".

When the cafe is open at night, the lights are dimmed, creating a different atmosphere.

Please check the "calendar" in the highlights of the store's Instagram (@ne_shigan) to see the store's opening hours.

There is also a store just a minute's walk from "Neshigang"! Don't forget to check out the self-photo studio "sajin"

The owner of Neshigan is also the man behind other businesses such as Daredemo Ryugaku, a study abroad agency specializing in Korea and Los Angeles (they have offices in Tenjin and Hakata, but you can also get counseling at Neshigan!), and the self-photo studio Sajin.

"Sajin" has two stores: "Tenjin store", which is a one-minute walk from "Neshigan", and "Kokura store", which opened in Uomachi, Kitakyushu in July 2023. Both stores require reservations.

The best part is being able to take photos however you like using professional equipment!

You are free to use the goods provided.

There are endless ways to enjoy it! Enjoy taking all kinds of photos in your own space without being disturbed by anyone.

By the way, the Kokura store is larger than the Tenjin store and can accommodate groups of more than 10 people.

Be sure to visit the cafe and the selfie photo studio to enjoy some "your time." (Text by ARNE Student Editorial Team)
