[Fukuoka Morning] A luxurious breakfast of freshly cooked rice cooked in a clay pot that's worth getting up early to try! (Akasaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts information about Fukuoka, mainly about cafes, on Instagram.

This time, we will introduce restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.

Reservations required! Sabataro (Akasaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) is a popular breakfast restaurant among tourists.

Sabataro opened in Akasaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka in February 2023.

The restaurant operates in two morning shifts, from 7:30 and 8:30, one lunch shift from 11:30, and one dinner shift from 18:00. Reservations are required for breakfast and lunch.

The mackerel-patterned shop curtain is the landmark.

The shop cards are also mackerel.

Once you pass through the noren curtain, you'll find a stylish space surrounded by trees. Go through here and head to the store entrance.

The interior of the restaurant has a modern atmosphere. They have a 7:30am slot, and I made a reservation for the 8:30am slot, but it was of course fully booked. It shows how popular the restaurant is, and my expectations are rising.

The store also sells souvenirs, including the Arita ware kettles used in the store and homemade condiments.

Freshly cooked rice cooked in a clay pot, one pot per person! A very luxurious "morning rice"

The only breakfast menu item is "Morning Oven Rice" (2,450 yen).

As soon as I sat down, the "double box" was brought to me.

The first tier is sesame mackerel made with fresh mackerel.

Grind the sesame seeds yourself using a mortar and pestle, then add the sesame sauce to complete the dipping sauce.

The rich flavor of the sesame brought out the umami of the mackerel and made it delicious.

The second tier contains a variety of rice accompaniments that allow you to enjoy the flavors of Kyushu, such as dried baby sardines, gamenishi, and homemade Spicy Fish Eggs.

Following the "double box" was brought out the "double kiln".

There is one clay pot of freshly cooked rice per person, amounting to 1.2 cups!

The rice, carefully cooked one by one in a pot, was shiny, glossy, and fluffy.

We also recommend eating it wrapped in Yanagawa's first harvest of nori seaweed.

On the top layer of rice is salted mackerel and tamagoyaki made with eggs from Itoshima.

The mackerel is marinated overnight and then carefully grilled over charcoal, resulting in plump, fatty flesh that goes perfectly with rice.

It's delicious to eat as is, but it also goes great with homemade mikan pepper and fresh shichimi pepper.

Try it out and enjoy the change in flavor.

At first, I thought I couldn't even eat 1 or 2 cups of rice, but before I knew it, the pot was empty.

If you can't finish the rice, don't worry, you can take it home.

There are also other dishes such as seasonal miso soup and homemade pickled vegetables, and when you line them all up, the volume is this much!
