A popular udon restaurant in Kokura (Kutamihigashi, Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City) is constantly introducing new dishes, including the hearty "Mixed Bowl"!

This time, we will introduce you to a udon restaurant that is also popular on social media.

"Niku Udon Inoue Kutami Branch" (Kutami Higashi, Kokura Minami Ward, Kitakyushu City) is a udon restaurant where you can enjoy Kokura's specialty "meat udon" and a wide variety of original dishes by yourself.

"Niku Udon Inoue" is a popular restaurant with four locations in Fukuoka Prefecture, where you can enjoy a wide variety of original udon dishes, including the Kokura specialty "Dokidoki Udon" with large chunks of meat.

This time we visited the second store, "Kushiami Store," located in Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu. May 26, 2023 will be the first anniversary of the store.

There is a large parking lot, so it is convenient to go by car.

The store is self-service, so you choose your favorite udon and toppings and then proceed to the register.

There are a variety of seating options available, including counter seats where you can casually stop by alone, spacious table seats, and raised seats that are convenient for families with small children.

Enjoy udon and rice bowls together! Mixed rice bowl set

On this day, we tried out the new menu items that started on April 1, 2023, by sharing and comparing them.

First up is the "Mixed Rice Bowl Set" (790 yen), which allows you to enjoy a mini rice bowl together with either Kake Udon or Kake Soba.

All of the mini bowls are based on udon broth and come in five varieties: katsudon, kiwami dashi curry, nikutama beef bowl, tori tempura bowl, and secret soy sauce fried chicken bowl.

When it was brought to me, I was surprised at how much it was! There was a generous amount of rice and noodles in the bowl.

I'll introduce the four dishes I ate that day in detail.

This is the "Mixed Rice Bowl Set: Meat and Egg Beef Bowl" (790 yen).

The beef is simmered until it falls apart, giving it a rich flavor that goes well with rice. It is full of umami and goes perfectly with the mild egg yolk.

This is the "Mixed Bowl Set and Pork Cutlet Bowl" (790 yen)

The cutlet enclosed in fluffy egg had a softer texture than I expected!

The "Mixed Rice Bowl Set: Chicken Tempura Rice Bowl" (790 yen) is topped with a generous amount of chicken tempura.

In fact, "Niku Udon Inoue Kutami Branch" is a sister store of the fried chicken specialty store "Nakatsu Karaage Moriyama." The fried chicken specialty store created soft chicken tempura through trial and error, and it is bound with a fluffy egg.

It was so delicious that it made me want to eat more and more rice.

The "Mixed Rice Bowl Set with Curry" (790 yen) is a set of curry filled with chunks of meat.

The curry had a fragrant dashi flavor and was mildly spicy.

Stamina beef kimchi cold noodles

"Stamina Beef Kimchi Cold Noodles" (790 yen) is perfect for the upcoming hot season.

The udon noodles are thin and the soup is Korean style.

This is an addictive bowl of mildly spicy, refreshing kimchi, fresh tomatoes, and a mellow soft-boiled egg.

It goes perfectly with the tender meat.

Kujo green onion udon and soba

For onion lovers, the "Kujo Negi Udon/Soba" (790 yen) is irresistible. This time I ordered the udon.

There's a generous amount of Kujo green onions on top of the noodles! The rich flavor of the broth and green onions was irresistibly delicious.

Pork rib udon with green onion and salt

"Salted Pork Ribs Bukkake Udon" (590 yen) uses salted pork ribs with green onions and homemade sesame sauce.

It was a hearty and satisfying dish. It was addictive and gave me energy!

Wild vegetable udon and soba

"Mountain Vegetable Bukkake Udon/Soba" (680 yen) topped with plenty of mountain vegetables and grated daikon radish.

I ordered this as soba noodles, and the smooth, thin noodles were a perfect match.

The refreshing flavor of the wild vegetables was irresistibly delicious.

Beef ball tsukemen

This is "Beef Ball Tsukemen." Smooth udon noodles are dipped in a rich broth containing beef that has been simmered until tender and raw egg.
