This hugely popular annual event will be held again this year.

The Jojima Sake Brewery Opening is an event where you can enjoy a full day of fun, focusing on new sake brewed at the brewery in Jojima, Kurume City, which is known as one of the leading sake-producing areas in Japan, as well as the charms of Chikugo's food and traditions.

This hugely popular event, which was visited by approximately 120,000 people in 2024, will be held as the 31st Jojima Sake Brewery Opening on Saturday, February 15th and Sunday, February 16th in 2025.

At the main venue, Kurume City Jojima Chomin no Mori Park, you can compare 36 brands of sake from 7 breweries, and there are plenty of other attractions, such as booths selling local vegetables and products!

You can also take advantage of the free shuttle bus to tour the sake breweries in Jojima, making it a fulfilling two-day trip.

[Main venue] Enjoy new sake with a ticket that comes with a sake cup! "Jojima sake tasting"

The main event will be the "Jojima Sake Tasting" (9:30-16:00 each day)!

At the main venue, 36 brands from 7 breweries in Jojima, a sake-producing region, are on display. You can compare the new sakes.

Purchase a "tasting ticket" (2,000 yen for a set of 15 tickets) that comes with a sake cup and let you enjoy a wide variety of unique sakes to your heart's content (the number of tickets required varies depending on the type of sake).

Tickets are on sale at Kurume City Jojima Chomin no Mori Park (main venue), Mizuma General Branch Office shuttle bus stop, and JR Kurume Station shuttle bus stop. *Only PayPay and d-payment are accepted at Mizuma General Branch Office shuttle bus stop.

Regular sake to Honjozo and Junmai sake class 1 ticket: 1 cup
Junmai sake ~ (Junmai) Ginjo sake class 2 tickets: 1 cup
(Junmai) Ginjo Sake ~ (Junmai) Daiginjo Class 3 sheets: 1 cup

*Tickets cannot be used for anything other than tasting. *Remaining tickets cannot be refunded. *Although there is sufficient alcohol stock, it may be sold out.

The popular "Kakuuchi" bar will be back again this year at the main venue (9:30-16:00 each day, 500 yen per drink). Enjoy a good drink and chat away in a good mood.

[Main Venue] A folk song that was sung in place of a clock! "Chikugo Sake Brewing Song" performed

One thing you should definitely hear is the "Chikugo Sake Brewing Song" (held on both days).

"Chikugo Sake Brewing Song" is a sake brewing song that has been sung for generations in sake breweries in Chikugo since the Edo period. In the days before machines, it was sung as a "substitute for a clock" when the master brewer was brewing sake.

This time, members of the "Sake Brewing Song Preservation Society" will be touring the main venue and each sake brewery venue to perform songs.

At the main venue, there will also be a performance by the taiko drumming team "Jojima Ryujin Taiko" (held on both days). Experience the powerful sound of Japanese taiko drums that will resonate deep in your stomach!

[Jojima Cultural Center] Oysters and Jojima sake come together! "Kaki×Sake Bar"

During the event, a limited-time bar called "Kaki x Sake Bar" will open in front of the north entrance of "Jojima Cultural Center (Ingat Hall)" where you can enjoy Fukuoka's specialty "Buzen Sea Oysters" together with Jojima sake (9:30-16:00 each day).

Please enjoy the combination of steamed oysters and Jojima sake, which perfectly complements the umami of the oysters.

[Jojima Cultural Center] Amaou sweets and sours now available at "Amaou BAR"

Also in front of the north entrance of the Jojima Cultural Center (Ingat Hall), there will be a booth called "Amaou BAR" where you can taste Amaou strawberries grown in Jojima (9:30-16:00 each day).

Sweets and sour drinks made with seasonal Amaou strawberries will be on sale.

[Free shuttle bus service] Five sake breweries open to the public! You can tour all at once on the "Sake Brewery Tour"

There will also be a "sake brewery tour" of five breweries (9:30-16:00 each day)!

At each of the breweries, "Asahigiku", "Ikegame", "Tsukushi no Homare", "Mizuhonishiki" and "Mori no Kura", you can sample sake and tour the inside of the brewery, and they also sell sake, delicious snacks, and local products. Starting this year, "tasting tickets" can be used at the brewery venue (limited to some products).

During the event, a free shuttle bus will be operating from Nishitetsu Mizuma Station and JR Kurume Station to the main venue, and from Parking Lot 1 to each brewery venue.

In addition, a special space called "Rokumeinoen" will be set up in the main venue. This tatami room was created by the Kurume Institute of Technology design group "ASURA" and you can enjoy the new sake to your heart's content (fee required, time-based * advanced reservations available).
