Fukuoka's big Christmas event, "Christmas Advent" has finally begun! Until last year it was called "Fukuoka Christmas Market", but starting this year it has been called "Christmas Advent" and the area has expanded.

This time, we will introduce "Shibata Sangyo presents CHRISTMAS MARKET in Hikari no Machi HAKATA", which will be held in the JR Hakata Station Square from November 6, 2023!

The giant Christmas tree that stands tall in front of JR Hakata Station is now a seasonal sight in winter in Fukuoka.

I visited on a weekday in mid-November. The opening time was 4:45 p.m., so the sky was still bright, but as you would expect from a venue in front of Hakata Station, there were a lot of customers there.

On this day, it got dark suddenly after 5:00 p.m., and the lights became even more beautiful. It seemed like most of the seats were filled by 5:30 p.m.

The exhibition will be open until Monday, December 25th from 16:45 to 23:00 on weekdays, and from 12:00 to 23:00 on weekends and holidays. Admission is free.

Popular food and drink menu includes "Santa Yaki" that is popular on social media!

The venue will be filled with food and drink menus that will get you in the Christmas spirit!

This is "Santayaki" modeled after the Christmas Advent character "San-chan", which has become a hot topic on social media! There are three flavors: "Sausage Mayonnaise" (600 yen), "Anko" (500 yen), and "Custard" (500 yen). Many customers were lined up in front of the store as soon as it opened!

The front has a Santa face and the back has a Christmas Advent logo. It's so cute that you'll want to take a photo of it and upload it to social media.

This is the standard Christmas Advent menu item, "Stephanwurst" (1,300 yen). The long sausage is wrapped around and around, making a big impact! It's also very filling, so it's recommended to share it with multiple people.

This is the booth of "DOMUS YAME," an Italian restaurant in Yame. It's fun to chat with Antonio, who is friendly and cheerful.

"Porcini Gorgonzola Cream Gnocchi" (1,200 yen) is a combination of chewy gnocchi and flavorful porcini mushrooms. It was creamy and delicious!

Speaking of "Christmas Advent," we can't leave out the drink menu served in mugs exclusive to the venue. Here are the limited edition mugs available at the Hakata Station venue this year!

The hot wine served in the limited edition mugs is famous, but they also have non-alcoholic menu items, so it's recommended for those who can't drink alcohol or those who have a car.

This is the newly introduced "Honey Almond Milk" (900 yen). Lightly sweet almond milk with a hint of sweet honey. It's very easy to drink and warms the heart.

Some stores are appearing for the first time this year!

In keeping with the name "Christmas Advent," this year there will be stores selling "Advent calendars"! You'll also find lots of stuffed toys to soothe you ♪

This is the booth of "KOSelig JAPAN," which sells sustainable aroma candles. They also sold limited edition Christmas aroma candles.

"Christmas Advent" is not only filled with delicious food, but also with cute items. In addition to the JR Hakata Station Square introduced this time, it will be held at the Prefectural Tenjin Central Park (from 11/16), Fukuoka City Hall West Side Fureai Square (from 11/17), Fukuoka Daimaru Elgala Passage Square (from 11/18), Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City Square (from 11/21), and the Former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Kihinkan (from 11/22), and other venues in the Tenjin area are scheduled to start one after another.
