The spectacular view of nemophila and cherry blossoms is only available now! The annual popular "Umi-no-Nakamichi Flower Picnic" is on until May 18th

The cherry blossoms all over the country are now in full bloom.

This time, we will be introducing the "Umi-no-Nakamichi National Government Seaside Park" in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City. The park hosts the popular "Umi-no-Nakamichi Flower Picnic" every year.

A flower festival heralding the arrival of spring in Fukuoka! "Umi-no-Nakamichi Flower Picnic 2025" is being held until May 18th (Sun)

The Umi-no-Nakamichi Flower Picnic 2025 will be held at the Umi-no-Nakamichi National Government Seaside Park until Sunday, May 18, 2025. This is the 38th time this hugely popular event has been held.

You can enjoy the "flower relay" where spring flowers such as cherry blossoms, nemophila, Iceland poppies, roses, and allium giganteum bloom one after another.

Recommended Flower Information

The most popular among them is the "Nemophila" at "Flower Hill."

Approximately 1 million cherry blossoms bloom, painting the entire hillside in a sea of lapis lazuli. The best time to see them is from early to late April, and for a few days in early April, you might be able to see a scene that harmonizes with the pink of the cherry blossoms next to them!

The "Nemophila Soft Serve" (500 yen), inspired by the blue nemophila flower, is also popular every year.

The Iceland poppies in the Colorful Flower Bed are in full bloom from late March to mid-April and are the opening flower to grace the Flower Picnic.

It's a lovely sight to see around 16,000 uplifting citrus-colored flowers lined up!

The Allium giganteum, also in the Colorful Flower Bed, made its first appearance last year and was so well received that the number of plants has been expanded to about 1,250 this year.

The best time to see them is mid-May, when you can enjoy the fantastical sight of purple spheres floating in the air.

The Flower Museum's special exhibition, "Viola Garden," is being held for the first time this year.

The museum mainly collects "breeding violas" from individual breeders and flower seedling farmers all over Kyushu, and they are displayed in a variety of ways, such as in group plantings, hanging plants, and in the ground. Please enjoy admiring the delicate and unique shapes and colors.
