This time, we will introduce a specialty store for "Mentaiko French Fries" that will open at Iwataya Main Store.
Opening March 29, 2025! "Fukutaro Iwataya Store" with its delicious "Mentaiko French Bread"
Fukutaro is known for its Spicy Fish Eggs, which is made with great care and time by slowly soaking it twice to give it a deep richness and flavor, and for its menbei rice crackers made with Spicy Fish Eggs.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, "Fukutaro Iwataya Store" will open on the second basement floor of the main building of Iwataya Main Store!

Their signature product is their original "Mentaiko French Bread." They sell freshly baked bread in front of the store, and there is also an eat-in space where you can enjoy it on the spot.
Of course, their signature products "Spicy Fish Eggs" and "Menbei" are also on sale. New products released by the "Iwataya Store" are also available.

Fukutaro, which has been making Spicy Fish Eggs for 50 years, conducted repeated trial and error to create the perfect combination between bread and Spicy Fish Eggs, and even built their own workshop to make the bread, resulting in the creation of Mentaiko France.
The rich and tasty Spicy Fish Eggs filling is based on their proud Spicy Fish Eggs, with the richness of mayonnaise and the aroma of garlic. The special baguette is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The combination is already the best! It's a taste that makes you feel the seriousness of "Fukutaro".

In addition to the classic "Plain" (takeout 441 yen, eat-in 449 yen), two new flavors are available: "Rich Plain" (takeout 551 yen, eat-in 561 yen), which contains more Spicy Fish Eggs for a crunchy texture and delicious flavor, and "Rich Cheese" (takeout 580 yen, eat-in 591 yen), the richest flavor topped with a generous amount of four kinds of cheese.
"Rich Plain" and "Rich Cheese" are only available at the Iwataya store and are sold in limited quantities.

In addition to freshly baked, there are also "frozen types" that you can enjoy by toasting them at home! There are five types available: the three above (frozen "Plain" 432 yen, "Rich Plain" 540 yen, "Richley's" 540 yen), plus "Cheese" (432 yen) and "Basil" (432 yen).

In addition to the Mentaiko French Bread, we would like to introduce some other noteworthy products.
This is the new product "and Menbei" (6 varieties, 651 yen each), which is making its debut at "Iwataya Store."

The concept of this ramen is "Kyushu's production areas, ingredients, and producers." There are six flavors: eel, yuzu pepper, motsunabe, oyster, paddy burdock, and Miike takana. You can enjoy the richness of Kyushu's cuisine.
We also recommend "THE MENTAI Tube" (7 varieties, 881 yen each), which allows you to easily add Spicy Fish Eggs to your daily meals.

The lineup includes seven types: medium spicy, very spicy, cod roe, meat miso, basil, yuzu pepper, and octopus and wasabi.
A special gift would be the "Spicy Fish Eggs in Porcelain" (1 tier 7,700 yen, 2 tiers 15,400 yen).

A collaboration with Arita Porcelain Lab, a modern brand of the Arita porcelain manufacturer Yazaemon Kiln, founded in 1804. Inside the container is uncolored Japanese Spicy Fish Eggs. The second tier is Fukutaro's signature squid and mentaiko!
