A hearty meat lunch! A hidden cafe surrounded by greenery that is also great for families with children (Munakata City)

This time, I'd like to introduce you to a restaurant in Munakata City that I recently found very impressive, as I usually go out and try other gourmet foods.
Cafe & Lunch Vicke, a hideaway cafe surrounded by greenery (Munakata City)
Cafe & Lunch Vicke opened in Hayama, Munakata City on July 1, 2024. Surrounded by greenery, it is a hideaway cafe with an extraordinary feel.
It's about a 30-minute walk from JR Kyoikudai-mae Station. It's about 2km away, so it's nice to walk there, but there's a large parking lot, so it's convenient to go by car.

Once inside the restaurant, you'll find a wonderful space. The table seats where you can relax are attractive, but the counter seats facing the beautiful green garden are the best seats!

Don't miss the accessories and small items made by artists that are on sale in one corner of the store. They were all so cute and made my heart flutter.
The friendly smiles of the owners, a married couple, will also soothe you.
A delicious one-plate "meat lunch" packed with vegetables and high nutrition!
What I want to eat at this restaurant is lunch!
They offer "Meat Lunch", "Fish Lunch", "Pizza Lunch" and "Green Curry Lunch" (1,580 yen each), all of which are carefully made with selected ingredients and are delicious. There's no doubt you'll be captivated the moment you take a bite.
This time, I tried two types of "meat lunch" that I was particularly interested in!
Sauteed pork lunch
First up is the "Sauteed Pork Lunch" (1,580 yen).
The set includes the main course of sauteed pork, fried shrimp, a wide variety of salads, soup, 16-grain rice, tofu, dessert, and a drink.

First, I decided to try the generous salad.
The vegetables used are mostly from Fukuoka Prefecture, and the dressing is homemade and carrot-based. I was impressed by how delicious this dressing was, far exceeding my expectations!

The side dishes, such as carrot rapée, marinated purple cabbage, boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes, and simmered hijiki seaweed, are also delicious, bringing out the flavor of the ingredients. You'll be captivated even before you get to the main course.

Of course the main course is also very delicious!
The pork used is from River Wild Ham Factory in Ukiha City. It has a meaty yet soft texture. The homemade onion sauce further enhances the gentle flavor of the meat.

Chicken Saute Lunch
Next is the "Sauteed Chicken Lunch" (1,580 yen).
This set also includes the main course of sauteed chicken, fried shrimp, a wide variety of salads, soup, 16-grain rice, tofu, dessert, and a drink.

The sauteed chicken is made with domestic young chicken marinated in salt koji, giving it a soft and fluffy texture.
I could feel the gentle flavor.

The tofu in the set was topped with basil sauce, giving it a Western flavor. The dessert was homemade almond tofu. I felt happy with every bite from start to finish.

By the way, the drinks that come with the set can be chosen from hot coffee, iced coffee, Earl Grey, iced tea, orange juice, and apple juice.
This time I chose Earl Grey and orange juice, and I was surprised at how generous the serving was...!

Strawberry season is on now! Check out the "seasonal parfaits" too!

On this day, I ordered the "Seasonal Parfait." From March to the end of April, they offer the "Strawberry Parfait" (850 yen).
The strawberries are made from Amaou strawberries, and the cake is made with granola, tea jelly, fresh cream, strawberry milk jelly, and vanilla ice cream. It's the perfect size for an after-meal dessert.

The glass was topped with a generous amount of strawberries, making it a very luxurious parfait! The tea jelly gave the whole thing a slightly sophisticated flavor.

A must-see for families with children! There's also a "Parent and Child Cafe" with carpeted floors and plenty of toys.
In fact, Cafe & Lunch Vicke is divided into two rooms, one on the left and one on the right side of the entrance.
The cafe we introduced earlier is on the right side of the entrance, which is an adult-only cafe. On the left side is a parent-child cafe where you can enjoy time with your small children.

In addition to the kids' menu of "Children's Udon" (450 yen), "Children's Curry" (450 yen), and "Children's Pancakes" (350 yen), there is also a nursing room where hot water for formula is provided.

The owner was originally a city council member in Onojo City.
While searching for various properties with the desire to "make it possible for families with small children to spend their time here with a smile and peace of mind," they found that Munakata was the "perfect place."
