[Tenjin Izakaya] Whatever you eat, you can't go wrong! A popular restaurant close to the station (Fukuoka City)

Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.

This time, we will introduce a new type of izakaya that opened in the Tenjin area in September 2024.

Opening near Tenjin Station! "SAKABA Ikoku" where you can enjoy Japanese cuisine and international cuisine from around the world (Haruyoshi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

"SAKABA Ikoku" is located about a 5-minute walk from the south exit of Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and about a 2-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

This is a hideaway izakaya tucked away in the back of a building. With the concept of "adding a little something out of the ordinary to your everyday life" and "feeling like you're from all over the world while still in Japan," you can enjoy creative cuisine and natural wines from all over the world in this space.

The interior of the restaurant is mainly counter seating surrounding the kitchen.

The adult atmosphere is perfect for dates and anniversaries. You can watch the food being cooked right in front of you, which is fun.

I was also happy with the polite hospitality of the staff.

Let me introduce the menu items I ordered this time.

No matter what you eat, you can't go wrong! A menu full of delicious dishes

Tapa's spice curry

Once you try "Tapa's Spice Curry" (880 yen), you'll be hooked.

The curry is slightly spicy and has a strong spice flavor. I used meat on the bone to create a curry that is typical of Nepal. The meat was tender and full of flavor, and it was so delicious that I wanted to eat it again and again.

Fresh fish caught that morning is served, and when I visited, the main course was "returning bonito."

Apparently, cooking at a high temperature concentrates the flavor of the ingredients, resulting in a fluffy texture. It was delicious.

Earthenware pot rice

The clay pot rice is cooked only after the order is placed. It takes about 30 minutes to cook, so we recommend ordering a little early.

There are five types available: "Freshly steamed silver rice and charcoal-grilled eel" (2,838 yen), "Raw oysters and mushrooms" (2,178 yen), "Spicy Fish Eggs roe with scallop butter" (2,178 yen), "Thai-style Khao Man Gai" (1,738 yen), and "Miyagi Prefecture Kinka silver salmon and homemade pickled salmon roe" (2,838 yen).

If you can sit right in front of the clay pot, you're in luck! After a while on the fire, the pot will start to make a bubbling sound and release a delicious aroma.
