[Popular Bakery in Fukuoka] Chewy and fluffy! A freshly baked bagel specialty shop from Kyoto (Ropponmatsu)
Hello. I'm Sho Fujita, a writer introducing recommended gourmet spots in Fukuoka.
This time, we'll introduce a popular bagel shop in Ropponmatsu, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, where you can enjoy approximately 20 kinds of authentic bagels.
RABBIT BAGELS Ropponmatsu Store (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) is an authentic bagel specialty shop originating from Kyoto.
Located a 3-minute walk from Ropponmatsu Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line, RABBIT BAGELS Ropponmatsu is a bagel specialty shop originating from Kyoto that opened in April 2025 along the Aburayama Tourist Road.

Since its first store opened in Kawaramachi, Kyoto in 2022, RABBIT BAGELS has gained a reputation for its bagels, which are made with a focus on the deliciousness and texture of the dough.
Starting with the Ropponmatsu store, which was the first store to open outside of Kyoto, the brand has now expanded to 14 stores nationwide, including four stores in Fukuoka (Hakata Station Maing store, Yakuin store, and Iwataya store), and is attracting attention as a rapidly growing brand.

The interior is stylish and minimally decorated.

In the back, there are tables and counter seats available, so you can enjoy a meal at your leisure with coffee or juice, as well as take your food to go.

A wide variety! Chewy and fluffy bagels
These bagels are made one by one in-store, using a special dough blended with 100% domestically produced wheat, primarily from Hokkaido. They are characterized by their chewy, elastic texture, yet light and fluffy feel.
They offer nearly 20 varieties, from simple options like "Plain" (250 yen) and "Sugar Butter" (270 yen) to hearty savory options like "Fish Fry" (550 yen), and even sweet treats.
The staff's top recommendation is the "Everything" (270 yen), which is generously topped with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onions, and garlic salt.

These savory bagels have a wonderfully savory flavor, and it's recommended to enjoy them with cream cheese.
Also, be sure to check out the limited-edition menu items only available at the Fukuoka store. The "Yamecha Anko" (310 yen) is appealing for its deep flavor, where the aroma of the dough kneaded with sencha green tea powder and the sweetness of the red bean paste come together.

The "Ume Shiso Spicy Fish Eggs" (330 yen), made with spicy Spicy Fish Eggs from Fukuoka, has a Japanese flavor where the refreshing sourness of the plum paste and the spicy kick of Spicy Fish Eggs are perfectly matched.

During lunchtime, hearty sandwiches such as the "Bacon Egg Cheese" (550 yen) are also popular.

The refrigerated display case features classic New York bagels such as the "Lox/Smoked Salmon" (650 yen) and luxurious options like the "Banana Custard" (390 yen), which can be enjoyed as a dessert.

Freshly baked goods are constantly being replenished in the kitchen throughout business hours, but if you want to be sure to get your hands on your desired menu item, it's best to visit right after opening.

Most bagels are still delicious the next morning, but you can freeze them and store them for about a month.
After thawing naturally, lightly warm it in the microwave and then bake it in a toaster for 2-3 minutes to revive the "freshly baked" feeling with a crispy outside and a fluffy inside.

From classics to sandwiches! We tried the popular items at "RABBIT BAGELS Ropponmatsu Store".
On this day, I purchased their signature bagels, "Sugar Butter" (270 yen), "Blueberry Cream Cheese" (360 yen), and "Lox/Smoked Salmon" (650 yen), and enjoyed them at a table.

Sugar butter
The most popular item, "Sugar Butter," is a classic treat where the crunchy texture of coarse sugar and the rich aroma of fermented butter fill your mouth.

It has a friendly appeal that appeals to people of all ages, yet its delicious taste will make you want to come back for more after just one bite—it's a flavor you'll never tire of.
Blueberry Cream Cheese
For those interested in sweets, we recommend the "Blueberry Cream Cheese," which is made with plenty of homemade blueberry compote cooked in-house.

The juicy, sweet and tart texture of the blueberries pairs perfectly with the mild acidity of the cream cheese.
Lox/Smoked Salmon
The "Lox/Smoked Salmon" sandwich is a luxurious combination of smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and red onion.

The appeal lies in the deep, complex flavor that comes from the fresh, smoky salmon, the mild spiciness of the purple onion, and the fragrant aroma of sesame and poppy seeds.
