[Fukuoka Souvenirs] Freshly baked sweets from a famous Western confectionery shop (Hakata Ward) with fluffy cream are recommended!

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time we will be introducing Chocolate Shop Main Store, a Western confectionery specialty store founded in 1942. This store has been loved for many years as "the birthplace of chocolate in Hakata," and has undergone a partial renovation! A new corner has been added offering freshly baked goods.

A baked goods corner filled with a lively atmosphere has been introduced! The long-established Western confectionery shop "Chocolate Shop Main Branch" has been renovated (Tsunaba-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

"Chocolate Shop Main Branch" is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station on the Hakozaki Subway Line and a 4-minute walk from Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the Airport Line or Hakozaki Line. This Western-style confectionery shop always carefully selects the freshest cacao and creates its products with care to bring out the natural flavor of the ingredients.

In November 2025, this popular restaurant was renovated.

The newly opened space on the left side of the store is an elegant space that is reminiscent of a pastry shop in Paris, France.

This corner is lined with baked goods such as financiers, tarts, canelés, and cookies.

The mellow aroma of baked goods fills the air, and the view into the kitchen in the back lets you hear and feel the presence of the pastry chefs at work.

The new corner's showcase is filled with a variety of baked goods.

Chocolate Shop Main Branch Financier

The "Rich Butter Financier" (270 yen) has a luxurious taste with the rich aroma of fermented butter.

The rich butter flavor goes perfectly with tea! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just one is enough to leave you feeling satisfied.

"Fromage Financier" (270 yen) is made with French cheese and mellow Gouda cheese powder, making it irresistible for cheese lovers...!

The "Chocolate Cookie" (345 yen) is filled with smooth chocolate cream and has a moist texture.

The "Nut Praline Cookie" (354 yen) is a fragrant praline cream filled with nuts and chocolate chips.

The sweetness and tartness of the dried fruit adds a nice accent to the cookies, making each one a satisfying treat.

The irresistible "Canelé" (280 yen) is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and is not too sweet, so it is recommended even for those who don't like sweet things.

It goes great with coffee, as well as milk tea.

One thing you should definitely try along with the baked goods is the dipping cream "Whipped Butter" (162 yen).

This lightly sweet and fluffy cream goes perfectly with any baked goods, but my personal favorite is dipping it in canelés.

The texture of the outer layer of the canelé and the soft, melt-in-your-mouth cream are a perfect match, making your afternoon tea time a truly enjoyable experience.

In addition to whipped butter, the dipping cream also came in white cream, chocolate cream, and raspberry.
