Yakuin: A cafe with a selection of stylish items worth visiting just to browse! (Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm Yumi Kuroishi, a writer who connects the city of Fukuoka with its people.

This time, we will introduce a popular shop that is said to make your life a little more fun.

Opening this summer! "FEELS GOOD STORE" is a cafe where you can buy stylish miscellaneous goods (Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

"FEELS GOOD STORE" opened in August 2025, a five-minute walk from Yakuin-Odori Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line.

Based on the concept of "a home you'll want to invite friends over," this cafe has a well-stocked miscellaneous goods space filled with selected items and original goods that will add a playful touch to your everyday life.

It's becoming a hot topic, with people saying, "You can find interior items that will add an accent to your room."

Pets are allowed on the terrace seats, so you can relax with your precious family.

The interior of the restaurant was designed by the owner himself, and is inspired by the lobbies of luxury hotels in the US and UK in the 1970s, with a refined appearance based on a deep blue color scheme.

The general goods corner is filled with items carefully selected by the owner from both Japan and abroad. Just looking at them will bring back the excitement you felt when opening your toy box as a child.

The store carries a wide range of items, including tableware, rugs, apparel, objects, towels, stationery, and household goods, as well as a large selection of one-of-a-kind vintage and antique items.

Since it's a one-order shop, you can take your time browsing the products while enjoying your purchased drink, which is a nice feature.

A relaxing space where you can take a break with carefully selected sweets and drinks

First, head to the cafe space.

Sitting down on the soft sofa, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time to the 70s! It's a comfortable space that makes you want to stay for a while.

A lineup packed with carefully selected sweets and drinks!

The shop will be stocking a selection of delicious sweets from famous Fukuoka shops, including the terrine (600 yen) from the popular bistro cafe PETRO in Kamikawabata-cho, and the cheesecake (700 yen) from the bistro Yorgo in Daimyo.

The drinks offered are mainly coffee (starting from 600 yen), but there is also a wide variety of other drinks such as "Chocolate Milk" (600 yen) and "Grape Juice" (600 yen).

This time, I tried the shop's recommended combination of "Cheesecake" (700 yen) and "Cafe Latte" (680 yen).

The cheesecake has a smooth texture with a pleasant, subtle saltiness, and is rich yet not too heavy.

And the drink that was recommended to go perfectly with this cheesecake was "Cafe Latte."

It uses specialty coffee beans carefully selected from all over Japan, and the aroma and light taste were impressive.

It brings out the richness of the cheesecake while leaving a refreshing aftertaste!

What made me even happier was that the staff at the store drew a hand-drawn illustration on the hand towels for me. I was touched by this casual "hospitality."

We asked the owner about his "really favorite things"! 3 recommended items

Here are three items that the owner recommended to us in the general goods section, saying, "You should definitely check these out." They are all products that embody the worldview of the store.

DULTON "Pins"

First up are pins (462 yen each) from DULTON, a Japanese interior goods manufacturer founded in 1988. FEELS GOOD STORE carries several types of pins selected by the owner.

Although small, it has a strong presence and is a playful item that can be used as an accent for bags and jackets.

Watanabe Pile's "Bath Towel"

Our next recommendation is the Bath Towel (7,700 yen) from Watanabe Pile, a high-quality towel manufacturer based in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.

Made with specially selected cotton material that stays fluffy no matter how many times you wash it. Not only is it stylish, but it also has a pleasant feel and is highly absorbent, so you'll feel comfortable every time you use it.

The bold coloring is also impressive, making it perfect not only as a towel but also as an accent piece for your interior.

This is a piece that you'll want to choose not only as a gift, but also when you want to enrich your own life a little.

KIKKERLAND's "Solar Queen"

The third item is Solar Queen (4,400 yen) from KIKKERLAND, a toy manufacturer founded in the United States in 1992. When sunlight hits the small solar panel attached to the bag, Her Majesty the Queen smiles and waves, making this a playful object.

Its soft movements and elegant appearance are captivating, and its presence will make you smile just by looking at it. Just by placing it in your entrance or by your window, it will instantly brighten up any space as the "queen of welcoming guests."

You can also purchase original tableware ◎

The tableware used in the cafe is an original design. Plates (1,400 yen), mugs (2,480 yen), and glasses (3,000 yen) created in collaboration with Fukuoka illustrator OK!i!N are all on sale. They would make great gifts as well as for yourself!
