[Ohori Park Area Cafe] A must-see for tea lovers! A hidden gem where you can enjoy "tea-free" and feel like a princess

Hello! I'm Yumi Kuroishi, a writer who connects the city of Fukuoka with its people.

This time, we will introduce a cozy tea room where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink tea and homemade scones!

It's like a fairy tale world! A relaxing space surrounded by dried flowers at "TEA ROOM flower bird" (Otemon, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)

TEA ROOM flower bird opened on September 2, 2025, on the third floor of a building just a three-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line. It was established as a sister establishment of the cafe and bar OTOE in Kego and the cafe and bar EGOTO in Maizuru.

This is a popular tea specialty store that has been gaining attention on social media for its ability to "enjoy tea and sweets while feeling like a princess."

The restaurant has a total of 25 seats, including counter and table seats.

The space, where dried flowers hanging from the ceiling and antique-style furniture harmonize, makes you feel as if you've wandered into a fairy tale world. The soft aroma of tea wafts through the air, and the natural light filtering in gently envelops the interior.

Some people were enjoying a girls' night out in groups, while others were enjoying a relaxing tea time by themselves, creating a space that was a good mix of lively and calm.

The decorations are stylish and the photogenic atmosphere makes every shot a picturesque one!

Enjoy the popular "Tea Free" experience, where you can drink as much tea as you like for two hours from over 20 random varieties of tea!

The specialty of "TEA ROOM flower bird" is the "Tea Free" (1,650 yen per item), which allows you to enjoy as much tea as you like for two hours, randomly selected from over 20 types. *The last item will be served 30 minutes before closing. *The "Tea Free" can be ordered as a single item after 2:00 PM. Only sets are available from opening until 2:00 PM.

The tea leaves used are from the black tea brand "amsu tea." They are carefully selected, mainly from high-quality Ceylon tea produced in Sri Lanka, and are characterized by their freshness, low astringency and bitterness, and a very mellow flavor and mouthfeel. It has become a hot topic among black tea lovers, who say, "I could drink as many cups as I wanted."

The wide range of teas available includes classic black teas such as Darjeeling, fragrant flavored teas such as rose and peach, infused teas blended with herbs and dried fruits, caffeine-free herbal teas, and even unusual flavored husk teas made primarily from cocoa bean skins.

The staff will come to pour you tea and randomly select a recommended tea to serve, so every time your cup runs out you'll have the chance to try a new tea.

Another appealing feature is the excitement of wondering what kind of tea will be served next.

This time, we had them brew the most popular "Sweet White Peach" as a special treat.

The soft aroma of juicy white peach and sweet and sour strawberry spreads across the palate, making you feel excited even before you drink it. When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the gentle sweetness of the white peach, and the sweet aroma and pleasant aftertaste slowly spread throughout your mouth.

Next, we tried "Acai Berry," "Ambersure," and "Noir Cacao."

"Acai Berry" is a blend of hibiscus and rosehips, giving it a refreshing taste.

This is "Ambersure," the signature black tea from "amsu tea." It's easy to drink, with little astringency or bitterness.

"Noir Cacao," a blend of cocoa husk and nibs, had a strong chocolate aroma.

The subtle aroma and gentle flavor make you want to drink cup after cup. It was an irresistible experience for tea lovers!

The tableware is also attractive, and is made by Noritake, a leading Japanese ceramics manufacturer, and Wedgwood, a brand that is a supplier to the British Royal Family.

Recommended for girls' get-togethers! The most popular item is the luxurious tea-free and scone set.

The most popular menu item is the "Tea Free Scone Set" (2,400 yen), which includes a "Tea Free" tea and homemade scones. This luxurious set allows you to enjoy the traditional British tea custom of cream tea, where tea and scones are enjoyed together, in the "TEA ROOM flower bird" style.

First, a welcome drink of iced tea was brought to us. The tea leaves change daily, but on this day it was English Breakfast. The rich aroma and mellow flavor spread throughout our mouths, drawing us into the deep world of tea!

The set includes two scones. In addition to the simple "Plain Scone," you can choose the other scone from either the "Earl Grey Scone" or the "Seasonal Scone." The seasonal scone on this day was the "Dried Fruit Scone."

Each one is carefully handcrafted to complement the tea, and baked fresh in the shop every morning. Another appealing feature is that you can enjoy different flavors with each season.

The "Plain Scone" is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a rich buttery flavor.

The Earl Grey Scone I chose this time has a subtle tea flavor and goes perfectly with tea.

The dish is served with homemade clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Split the scone in half and pour in plenty of cream and jam. The rich milk flavor and sweet and sour harmony fills your mouth, and matches perfectly with the crispy, fragrant scone. You can truly enjoy the true essence of cream tea.

After the meal, they also serve "tea flavored ice cream," a refreshing taste that's perfect for finishing off your meal.
