Blue Bottle Coffee Fukuoka Tenjin Cafe (Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City) - A unique space where the streets of Tenjin and the tranquility of Kego Shrine intersect!
Blue Bottle Coffee Fukuoka Tenjin Cafe is located in the heart of Tenjin, facing the grounds of Kego Shrine.

This is the only cafe in Kyushu run by the globally popular specialty coffee brand Blue Bottle Coffee, and since its opening in February 2024, about a year and a half ago, it has been bustling with local coffee lovers and international travelers.
The glass-walled, open interior of the restaurant is equipped with mainly table seating, but also counter seating, sofa seating, and even terrace seating.

The restaurant has a total of 107 seats, making it spacious and comfortable.

The space was designed by Koichi Futamata, a designer from CASE-REAL, which is based in Fukuoka and Tokyo. He has created a space that blends tradition and modernity, befitting this location where the vibrant town of Tenjin and the tranquil atmosphere of Kego Shrine intersect.
The space, decorated with natural materials such as wood and stone, has a relaxing and calming atmosphere. On the day I visited, soft natural light filled the store, making time seem to pass more slowly.

The cafe also pays close attention to detail by using different flooring materials. On the side facing National Route 202, which the cafe faces, cement boards are used to evoke the image of a bustling city, while on the side facing Kego Shrine, deep walnut wood is used, expressing the dual nature of the town of Tenjin.
Fukuoka Tenjin Cafe Exclusive! "Brunch Plate" in collaboration with popular bakery "pain stock"
One item worth mentioning is the Fukuoka Tenjin Cafe's exclusive "Brunch Plate," a collaboration with the popular bakery "pain stock" in Hakozaki, Higashi Ward. This menu item can be ordered anytime from 8am.
There are three types: "Complete" (1,870 yen) with a rich selection of vegetables, bacon, and boiled eggs; "Vegetable" (1,650 yen) with a focus on vegetables and also including hummus and boiled eggs; and "Salad" (1,212 yen) with a simple selection of vegetables and bread.

This time, we chose the most popular dish, "Comple." It's a gorgeous and satisfying one-plate menu.

The fragrantly baked "White Stock" bread is topped with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and boiled egg, making it the perfect brunch dish. The bread has a light, gentle flavor thanks to the addition of brown sugar and honey to the dough.
*The contents may change depending on the season. During the holiday period until January 14, 2025, the dish will be served with sautéed mushrooms and honey-glazed bacon for a special flavor.
The most impressive dish was the hummus that came with it, a Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini (sesame paste), garlic, and lemon.
When you put this on freshly baked bread, the crispy texture and rich flavor are a perfect match! The mild flavor is also rich and flavorful, and it's so delicious that you'll find yourself reaching for another bite.

It was hearty yet light and enjoyable. I recommend it for a relaxing holiday.

This drink, made by combining carefully extracted espresso with finely frothed steamed milk, has a very smooth texture.
When I took a sip, the aroma of coffee spread softly and the mellow taste of milk took my breath away. It seemed to melt into my body. The latte art was beautiful, and it was soothing to look at.
