[Dazaifu Tenmangu Lunch] A Must-Order Pasta Set from a Popular and Stylish Cafe (Fukuoka)

This time, we will introduce lunch options at a popular cafe near Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

Right next to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine! Stylish cafe "ton" (Dazaifu City)

Cafe "ton" is located about a three-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station. It opened in February 2023 in the NISHIKIMACHI complex, alongside Loop a Bread and Sushi Hirano.

This is a sister store of the popular cafes "TAGSTA" and "trene" in Fukuoka City. *The correct spelling of "TAGSTA" is with a ring symbol above the last A.

The interior of the store is decorated with woodgrain interior, and sunlight pours in through the large windows, creating a sense of openness. The stylish lighting, like art, is eye-catching.

A delicious lunch "Pasta Set" that even comes with an appetizer and a drink!

During lunchtime (11:30-15:00), you can enjoy two options: the "Pasta Set" (1,780 yen) and the "Curry Set" (1,780 yen). Both are set courses that include an appetizer and soup.

In addition to the classic "Apple Pork Ragu Pasta," pasta dishes include the monthly "Two Ton Pasta," which offers two different flavors for noodles and sauce. Curry dishes include popular "Mustard Shrimp Curry" and "Japanese Black Beef Curry" from sister restaurant "townz," which sadly closed in December 2024, and are available seasonally!

Another great thing about "ton" is that you can enjoy their specialty desserts. For an additional 400 yen, you can add the "two ton cheesecake" (price from 630 yen) to your lunch, which lets you taste two types of cheesecake at once, or for an additional 1,100 yen, you can add the "seasonal mille-feuille" (price from 1,300 yen) made with fruit.

They try to use ingredients produced in Fukuoka Prefecture as much as possible.

This time, I chose the "Apple Pork Ragu Pasta" from the restaurant's recommended and most popular "Pasta Set" (1,780 yen).

First up is the appetizer dish, a colorful assortment of salmon, cream cheese, sunny lettuce, grapes, radishes, and sprouts.

The salmon and cream cheese go perfectly together, and the fresh sunny lettuce and sweet and sour grapes add a nice kick to the flavor.

The appetizer dish comes with soup. On this day, it was homemade consommé soup, which contained thyme and rosemary, giving it a deep, mature flavor.

"Apple Pork Ragu Pasta" is a Bolognese-like dish made by simmering coarsely ground "Apple Pork" with several kinds of herbs. The rich, meaty sauce is brought together by the mellowness of the cheese.

The crunchy texture of the mizuna added a nice accent to the dish, and it was so delicious that I finished it in no time.

The pasta is topped with freshly baked bread from the bakery next door, Loop a Bread!

This bread has a mild sweetness and is delicious on its own, but it also pairs perfectly with sauces.

For after-meal drinks, you can choose from eight options, including "Raspberry Soda" and "Homemade Ginger Ale" (+100 yen).

The photo shows a "Cafe Latte" (+100 yen). The coffee has just the right amount of bitterness, bringing out the mellowness of the milk. It was a light taste that was perfect after a meal!

This time we introduced the lunch menu, but between 9:30 and 11:00, you can bring in bread from Loop a Bread with the order of one drink, so you can also use it for breakfast.
