A popular restaurant in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, has arrived in Fukuoka for the first time! Modern French cuisine with a lively atmosphere (Yakuin)

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time, we will introduce the modern French restaurant "L'AS Fukuoka", which opened in the Yakuin area on September 12, 2025.

A popular Tokyo restaurant has come to Fukuoka! Modern French cuisine with a lively atmosphere: "L'AS Fukuoka" (Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)

"L'AS Fukuoka" is located about a 2-minute walk from Yakuin Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line and Nishitetsu Line, near Sushi Kappo Yamanaka Main Branch.

As the second branch of L'AS in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, which was selected as a Bib Gourmand in the 2025 Michelin Guide Tokyo, it has been attracting attention even before it opened.

The simple yet sophisticated interior, with its warmth of wood, has 48 seats and is a comfortable atmosphere for dates, girls' nights out, or even for solo diners.

Cutlery and menus are stored in the drawers on the tables.

The open kitchen is particularly eye-catching, allowing you to hear the sounds and smells of the chefs cooking, creating a realistic atmosphere that makes you feel like you're watching a show.

You'll want to come back again and again! Monthly Chef's Choice Course

While based on traditional French culinary techniques, L'AS is not bound by formality and pursues expression that makes the most of the natural flavors and playfulness of seasonal ingredients.

The menu consists of only one 9-10 dish "Omakase Course" (7,000 yen). The price is the same for both lunch and dinner, and the menu changes every month, so you can discover new dishes no matter how many times you visit.
*One drink required. *A cover charge of 550 yen per person applies.

Now, let me introduce the content of the September 2025 course that I received this time.

L'AS Fukuoka Menu

The first dish was "Bite-sized Homemade Mozzarella Cheese." It was simply seasoned with olive oil and salt, allowing you to enjoy the ingredients themselves. The chewy texture was irresistible!

Next up was the specialty "Foie Gras Crispy Sandwich." Foie gras is sandwiched between thin cookie dough, and is served in a unique style where you tear open a paper bag like a candy. This will remain a standard dish even if the course contents change.

When you put it in your mouth, the crispy texture and the sweetness of the caramel and the sourness of the orange fill your mouth, making it almost like a dessert. The balance of sweetness, saltiness, and savory flavors is exquisite.

It was a playful dish that made me smile and eased any nervousness I might have had about the course meal.

"Cold pot-au-feu of seasonal vegetables from Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, with tomato and beet jelly" is vibrantly colored!

The seasonal vegetables included Nebalister, a type of yam, edamame, and pumpkin for eating raw. The strong flavor of the ingredients was brought out by the tangy tomato and beet sauce.

"Homemade Smoked Aurora Salmon" uses richly fatty Norwegian salmon.

The smoky aroma and smooth texture are pleasant, and the avocado dip and dill-flavored sour cream add a refreshing touch.

Next up is a dish that simply showcases American sauce. The sauce, packed with the flavor of lobster, clings tightly to the fettuccine! This luxurious dish has a rich flavor that fills your mouth.

The meat dish was "Roast lamb with sautéed eggplant and tapenade sauce." It was so tender and juicy that the knife went right into it. Combined with the rich sauce, it left a deep feeling of satisfaction.

For dessert, L'AS's popular menu item, Fondant Cheesecake with 8-month-aged Comté Cheese, will be available! The delicate and smooth dough melts on your tongue, accented by the richness of the Comté cheese on top. A small amount of Maldon salt brings out the sweetness.

We finished off with "baked goods and fresh herbal tea from Kajitani Farm in Hiroshima Prefecture." The fragrant herbal tea refreshed the palate and was a perfect match for the gently sweet baked goods.

The dishes, made with seasonal ingredients, are full of ingenuity that brings out the unique characteristics of the ingredients to the fullest. While the gorgeous appearance is exciting, each bite leaves you in awe.
