[Kurume Lunch] Great value and great taste! A delicious oyakodon with melt-in-your-mouth chicken that's practically a drink
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
I had a craving for that steak bowl for the first time in a while, so I went to that restaurant!

However, I gave in to temptation and chose a different lunch. I'll introduce you to the menu.
Have you ever seen an oyakodon like this?! A new menu item that pushes the boundaries is now available at the restaurant "Nagomi-dokoro" (Kurume City)
So, we went to Nagomi-dokoro, a restaurant in Higashi-Kushihara, Kurume City. It's a hideaway restaurant tucked away in a quiet residential area, and its charm lies in its calm atmosphere.
It's easily accessible, just a 1-minute walk from Nishitetsu Kushihara Station and a 10-minute walk from Kurume Station. There's also a parking lot behind the restaurant, so it's convenient to come by car.

The restaurant has six counter seats and three table seats. It's small, so it's perfect for a solo lunch or a date.

The "Extra Large Aged Steak Bowl" (300g, 3,400 yen) and the "Small Aged Steak Bowl" (100g, 1,300 yen) that I introduced at the beginning are some of my favorites. The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth, and the more you chew it, the more delicious it becomes.

I get so absorbed in my food that I end up eating it right down to the last bite, but this time I ended up wanting to eat the new menu item "Limited Fat Chicken Bowl" (1,100 yen) more than the aged steak bowl.
It was only available for a limited time until late October 2025, so I ordered it immediately.

And here is what was brought to us!

A whole big chicken put into a skillet!

I was blown away by the visual impact, and my expectations were already at their peak even before I started eating it.
The concept is "make your own oyakodon," and this excitement is the real joy of experiential gourmet food.
First, add the eggs in the skillet to the rice.

Next, the meat is placed on top of the rice, but it's huge. It shrinks after cooking, so I wonder what its original size was.

I see, it must be called the "limit" fatty chicken bowl because it exceeds the limits of the bowl.

Oyakodon is generally thought of as containing a lot of onions, right?
But this bowl is surprisingly made almost entirely of meat, which was a pleasant surprise.

1,100 yen is a very reasonable price for such a large portion. The surprising value for money will have you smiling.
And now it's time to eat it!
However, while I thought this was a menu that was focused on impact, the taste was just as good.
The chicken is marinated in shio-koji (salted rice malt), so enjoy the first bite as is. The slight saltiness spreads throughout your mouth, and the delicious flavor slowly seeps out with each bite.
I thought it would be the eggs that melted in my mouth, but it was actually the chicken that was so tender. It was my first experience of chicken that melted in my mouth. It was so soft that I could easily cut it with chopsticks, and it felt like a drink.

The eggs are lightly seasoned, and the combination of the melt-in-your-mouth eggs and juicy chicken is simply amazing.
You can also add spices to your liking.

Even though I'm a person who values volume, this one piece of chicken is so satisfying that I would eat two bowls of rice with it.

I'll definitely be ordering this again. Next time, I'll definitely order the "Toro Chicken Rice Bowl."
This restaurant is known for its drinkable hamburger steaks, but both the "Limitedly Soft Chicken Bowl" and the "Aged Steak Bowl" are must-try dishes!
If you're visiting for the first time, be sure to order both and experience this luxury. (Text by Yorimichi)
