An event bringing together famous gourmet foods from all over Tohoku will be held at Hakata Hankyu.

[June 4-10, 2025] "Tohoku Products Convention" to be held at Hakata Hankyu
The Tohoku Products Convention will be held for seven days from Wednesday, June 4th to Tuesday, June 10th, 2024 at the Hakata Hankyu 8th floor event hall.
A total of 53 stores will be gathered together, including five stores making their first appearance at Hakata Hankyu, offering everything from classics from the six Tohoku prefectures to lesser known delicacies.
Popular gourmet foods will also be featured, such as beef tongue from Miyagi Prefecture, Sendai's specialty "Zunda Shake (R)", and sweets from "Maison Coelacanth", a patisserie representing the Tohoku region!
Carefully selected ingredients! A taste that makes its debut at Hakata Hankyu
<First appearance at Hakata Hankyu> "Nakahora Farm" "Natural Pasture Soft Serve Ice Cream" [Iwate]
Nakahora Farm is a dairy farm where cows graze in the mountains day and night all year round. At Nakahora Farm, the milk from cows that are raised stress-free and eat pesticide-free grass is pasteurized at low temperatures to produce natural milk and sweets.
The "Natural Pasture Soft Serve Ice Cream" (551 yen per piece) uses blue agave syrup and has a milky, refreshing aftertaste that makes you feel like you're "eating milk."

"Nakahora Farm Milk" (500ml, 1,188 yen, limited to 10 per day) is a specially pasteurized milk with a natural sweetness.

<First appearance and demonstration at Hakata Hankyu> "Ota Tofu Shop" "Triangular Fried Tofu" [Miyagi]
Ota Tofu Shop continues to uphold the traditional methods of production that have been handed down from generation to generation since the end of the Edo period.
The "triangle fried tofu" (2 pieces, 648 yen) is grilled so that it is crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside! It is also delicious when soaked in plenty of broth in a stew.

<First appearance at Hakata Hankyu> "Teigaura Shoten" "Seared Returned Bonito" "Oysters Pickled in Olive Oil" [Miyagi]
"Teigaura Shoten's" "Seared Bonito" (100g, 1,080 yen) and "Oysters Pickled in Olive Oil" (100g, 1,620 yen) will also be available for the first time. They use fresh bonito from Kesennuma Port, one of the largest fishing ports in Japan, and large, plump oysters from Miyagi Prefecture, famous for oyster farming.

A wide variety of local sweets, including popular brands created by Tohoku's leading pastry chefs
"Maison Coelacanth" "Coelacanth Monaka" [Miyagi]
Two brands created by Tohoku's leading pastry chef, Ikeda Kazuki, will be at the venue!
Maison Coelacanth is run by Kazuki Ikeda, who says, "We want to convey the deliciousness of traditional sweets to the present day, transcending time and country." The "Coelacanth Monaka" (6 pieces, 2,191 yen) is made by sandwiching French Isigny butter between red beans from Tokachi and seasoning it with a strong touch of Guérande salt. The contrast between Japanese and Western, sweet and salty, crispy skin, smooth bean paste and butter, creates an addictive taste.

Also on offer will be Kazunori Ikeda Individuelle, where you can enjoy baked goods that are imbued with the worldview of Ikeda, who trained in France.
<Demonstration> "Zunda Saryo" "Zunda Shake (R)" [Miyagi]
There is also a wide selection of sweets made with "Zunda," a local Miyagi dish made from mashed edamame beans.
Zunda Saryo's colorful "Zunda Shake (R)" (short, 421 yen per cup) is a vanilla-flavored shake with an irresistible edamame flavor. It's a specialty!

"Zunda Saryo" "Premium Fresh Cream Bread Zunda Shake Flavor" [Miyagi]
The "Premium Fresh Cream Bread Zunda Shake Flavor" (249 yen per piece) has also been released, offering the luxurious texture of the granular texture unique to zunda and the creamy consistency of the bread.

<Demonstration> "Koike Kashiho" "Awamanju" [Fukushima]
Located at the entrance to Oku-Aizu, Koike Kashiho is a long-established shop founded over 100 years ago. Their "Awamanju" (10 pieces for 1,401 yen) is made with homemade bean paste wrapped in millet and glutinous rice, and is fluffy when freshly steamed and chewy when cooled!

<Demonstration> "Totendokoro Konohata" "Toten" [Fukushima]
"Kouten" (301 yen each) is a Japanese sweet made by wrapping Fukushima's traditional preserved food, frozen mochi (mugwort mochi), in slightly sweet donut dough. The outside is crispy, the dough is fluffy inside, and the mugwort mochi is chewy. You can enjoy three different textures, and it goes well with both tea and coffee.

A wide selection of local delicacies
<Demonstration> "Daian Shokudo" "Shioteba" [Aomori]
This is Shioteba (10 pieces for 1,512 yen) from Aomori's "Daian Shokudo." This is a famous gourmet dish that has huge queues at the morning market in Hachinohe in search of its flavor. Its crispy fried, light salty taste is its charm. It's a dish that you'll want to eat as many as you can!

<Demonstration> "Honda Suisan" "Kinka Mackerel Sushi" [Miyagi]
They use "Kinka mackerel," a brand of mackerel caught off the coast of Kinkasan in Miyagi Prefecture, known for its rich fat and melt-in-your-mouth texture. "Kinka mackerel sushi" (1 portion, 3,240 yen) is made by pressing sushi made from marinated mackerel whose skin has been savory-seared until fragrant, and goes perfectly with alcohol. You can enjoy the juiciness of Kinka mackerel to your heart's content.

<Demonstration> "Teppan Dining Homare" "Three-Color Meat Sendai Bento" [Miyagi]
"Teppan Dining Homare," a teppanyaki restaurant located in the center of Sendai, Miyagi, is a high-end restaurant frequented by locals on anniversaries and special occasions. The taste of this restaurant, which is usually hard to visit, will be available at the Fukuoka venue! The "3-Color Meat Sendai Bento" (2,160 yen per person) is a bento where you can enjoy A5-grade Sendai beef yakiniku, Sendai beef thigh, and the specialty beef tongue.

"Tsugaru Squid Menchi" (6 pieces, 810 yen), a local dish made of chopped and deep-fried squid and vegetables, from "Kanese Takahashi Kamaboko Shop." It's a dish you'll want to eat with some delicious sake.

"Ika Poppo" (1 piece, 1,080 yen), grilled to a fragrant finish in a soy sauce-based sauce, is also a great flavor to pair with alcohol!

<Eat-in/Demonstration> "Ramen Okamura" "Aizu Jidori Ramen" [Fukushima]
The popular ramen restaurant "Ramen Okamura," which won first place for two consecutive years in a row in a ramen magazine and was inducted into the hall of fame, will be appearing. You can enjoy the irresistible "Aizu Jidori Ramen" (990 yen per person) with its rich soup made with Aizu Jidori chicken, at the eat-in counter!

The drinking corner "Local Sake Bar Tohoku" has also appeared!
Tohoku, a rice-producing region, is also famous for its sake. The venue will feature the Tohoku Local Sake Bar, which is bustling every year! You can compare local Tohoku sake, including the "Recommended 3-Type Tasting" (3 cups of 45ml each, 1,320 yen).
