Opening at Hakata Daitos on May 23rd! A new brand from a popular store, "Ponsuke: Sake, Travel and Conversation Store" (Hakataeki Chuo-gai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

"Ponsuke, a restaurant for drinking, traveling and conversation," opened on May 23, 2025. It is a new business venture run by "Nikkaya Chosuke," a popular udon izakaya in Fukuoka.

This is a standing bar with the theme of promoting the "Fukuoka/Kyushu alcohol culture" such as sake and shochu.

Although it is a compact space with 18 seated seats and 10 standing seats, it has an appealing atmosphere that evokes the feeling of travel.

There are Korean-speaking staff in the store, making it a global destination that will please inbound tourists.

It's open from 10:00 to 24:00, making it the perfect place to stop by during your trip, for a pre-party, or for a quick drink by yourself.

More than 100 types of sake and shochu are always available! A lineup that will make you feel like you're on a "sake journey"

We always have over 100 types of sake and shochu in stock! We have a wide selection of carefully selected brands from all over the country, with a focus on popular brands from Kyushu, such as "Shichiyo" from Fukuoka, "Nabeshima" from Saga, and "Tenpu" from Kagoshima.

Among the shochu are some that were produced 20 years ago, so searching for a rare drink is a fun experience. The staff will patiently explain the flavors and characteristics of each, so even beginners to sake and shochu can feel at ease.

There's a wide selection of delicious snacks that will impress any alcohol lover, including "smoked chicken wings" and "shrimp and crab battle"!

The food is mainly small-plate style "tsumami" (appetizers), and there is a wide selection of dishes that go well with sake and shochu.

Of particular note is the specialty "smoked chicken wings" (280 yen each). The smoky aroma fills the entire restaurant the moment it is brought to your table! The crispy, fragrant skin and juicy meat make this a great dish to pair with alcohol.

Another popular item is the "5 kinds of oden assortment" (880 yen). It has a mild flavor based on Rausu kelp broth. In addition to daikon radish, egg, and konjac, the lineup also includes a unique ingredient, imitation crab meat.

The "Ebi Kani Gassen" (580 yen) is a unique sushi roll with red shrimp and crab sticks, topped with crab miso and mayonnaise paste. It looks cute, so be sure to order it!

Other attractive items on offer include the Fukuoka specialty "Sesame Mackerel" (1,280 yen) and the meat-packed "Ultimate Meat Tofu" (980 yen).

A unique feature is the "Ohajiki Service" system. If you become a regular customer, you will receive one "Ohajiki" when you pay the bill. If you present it the next time you visit, the "Today's Bargain Sake" (660 yen) will be half price, just 330 yen (first drink only)! As long as you don't lose them, you can use them forever.
