On April 24th, 2025, the highly anticipated "Machi no Shokudo" will open in the heart of Tenjin!　 I will report on the highlights.

Tenjin Lunch Savior! Tenjin Fuku Shokudo (One Fukuoka Building), the largest "town restaurant" in the area

Tenjin Fuku Shokudo opened on the 5th floor of ONE FUKUOKA BLDG. (commonly known as One Building), which had its grand opening on April 24, 2025.

It's an "open cafeteria" that anyone can use casually, and can be used freely as a lunch spot for workers, a break while shopping, or even a quick drink after work! It shows a different side of itself depending on the time of day.

The seating is divided into four concepts, including counter seats and table seats that are easy for one person to use...

My recommendation is the counter seat by the window! The Tenjin intersection is right in front of you, so you can enjoy your meal while looking at the view that truly symbolizes One Building.

Another nice feature was that it was equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets.

On weekdays, the menu is different between 11:00-15:00 (lunchtime) and 15:00-20:00 (aperitivotime). On Sundays and holidays, both lunch and aperitivo menus are served from 11:00-17:00.

Choose from 13 different lunch options! Our top recommendation is the "Hamburg steak with Japonaise sauce set meal."

The lunch menu, available from 11:00 to 15:00, has 13 options in total: 12 standard menu items such as set meals, rice bowls, curry, and noodles, as well as daily specials, and one special lunch (limited quantity).

It's designed so that you won't get bored even if you come every day.

What's even more surprising is the price!

With ramen (from 650 yen), curry rice bowls (from 750 yen), pasta (from 800 yen), and set meals (from 900 yen), you'll be surprised at how reasonably priced it is, even though it's just Tenjin lunch.

What's more, the set meals come with miso soup and small side dishes, so they're perfectly nutritionally balanced.

This time I ordered the popular "Hamburger with Japonaise Sauce Set Meal" (900 yen).

The hamburger steak is soft, juicy, and delicious! The sweet sauce is exquisite, and it goes really well with rice!

The homemade miso soup made from dashi and the two small side dishes had a gentle taste, and both my heart and stomach were very satisfied. The contents of the small side dishes change depending on the ingredients purchased, so I'm looking forward to that too♪ It's great that this amount is only 900 yen!

You can order while sitting down! Smart ordering with no cash required

Tenjin Fuku Shokudo is a completely cashless restaurant. During lunch time, you can order via mobile or pay with the ticket machine (cash payment is not accepted).

With mobile ordering, you can order from the comfort of your seat by simply scanning a QR code.

To enter, first pick up one of the place cards labeled "Heaven," "God," "Fuku," "Shoku," or "Hall" at the entrance and take a seat.

Scan the QR code on your seat card, choose your menu, and complete the payment. When your order number is displayed on one of the three monitors in the store, go to the corresponding counter to pick it up!

There is a pick-up point for each menu category, so I was able to collect my order smoothly.

All you have to do at the pick-up counter is hold the barcode on your smartphone over the scanner on the counter! I was constantly amazed at this modern cafeteria system.

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon aperitivo

From 15:00 to 20:00, it is "aperitivo time" where you can enjoy light meals, deli items, sweets, and drinks including alcohol. "Aperitivo" is a custom in Italy where people gather together to enjoy some light drinks and food before dinner.

During Aperitivo Time, the payment method will change and you will be able to order via mobile or at the cash register (cash payments are not accepted).

The aperitivo menu lineup is perfect for a quick meeting or a day of pampering. The menu is also enjoyable for those who don't drink alcohol.

There is also a mixed juice that recreates the taste of the coffee shop "Mon" in the old Fuku Building!

Environmentally friendly! Local production and consumption and sustainable initiatives are also attracting attention

Tenjin Fuku Shokudo incorporates sustainable ideas into its menu, such as using local ingredients, adopting eco-friendly cutlery, and even using non-standard vegetables and taking measures to reduce food waste.

For example, you can use leftover rice to make sweet sake and use it as a secret ingredient in curry! It's great to be able to eat delicious food while also being kind to the earth.
