"Shiki no Ajidokoro Higedaruma" is located about a minute's walk from Meinohama Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line.

This izakaya restaurant takes pride in its dishes made with fresh fish caught in Iki, Nagasaki Prefecture, and is bustling with customers every day.

Not only is it popular in the evening, but the lunch served from 11:30 to 16:00 is also highly rated.

There are seven types of set meals available: "Higedaruma Set Meal" (2,480 yen), "Daily Special Set Meal" (830 yen), "Grilled Fish Set Meal" (1,000 yen), "Tempura Set Meal" (1,450 yen), "Sashimi Set Meal" (1,600 yen), "Aradaki Set Meal" (1,880 yen), and "Fried Young Chicken Set Meal" (1,000 yen).

The lunch-only "Seafood Bowl" is their signature dish, and you can choose from three sizes: special (2,100 yen), regular (1,400 yen), and mini (1,100 yen).

In addition, you can also enjoy a la carte dishes and the limited-time "Daytime Drinking Set" (1,380 yen) available from 13:00 to 16:00.

Lunch only! An exquisite seafood bowl with outstanding freshness and flavor

This is the lunch I was looking forward to, the regular Kaisendon (1,400 yen). It comes with a small side dish, pickles, and miso soup, and is a very reasonable 1,400 yen!

The menu changes daily as they use the freshest seasonal seafood available that day, and on this day they had sea urchin, flying fish roe, salmon, yellowtail, sea bream, amberjack, squid, and striped jack. There was a wide variety, which was great!

The seafood bowl comes with two types of sauce: the classic sashimi soy sauce and sesame sauce.

Personally, I love sesame sauce for white fish!

Because it's a watery type of drink, if you tilt it too much it comes out all at once, so I ended up putting out a little too much... (laughs).

There was a lot of rice, so I think it was a good idea to pour a generous amount on it.

The bowls are big and the portions of rice are generous, so you'll be full.

All the ingredients were excellent, but my favorite was the amberjack, which had a nice chewy texture.

Good taste, good value for money, good location. The whole family was very satisfied!
