Stylish and comfortable! Reasonably priced too! A popular cafe right next to Yume Town Iizuka

2025.02.09

Hello. I'm Ayaka, a writer who loves going to cafes.

This time, we will introduce a cafe in Iizuka City that serves delicious homemade sweets.

Yoka, a hidden cafe bar located 10 minutes walk from JR Iizuka Station, right next to Yume Town Iizuka (Iizuka City)

Yoka, a cafe bar that opened in December 2024. This time, I visited it during lunch time.

It is located on the first floor of a green building located very close to "Yume Town Iizuka." When you turn down the alley next to the building, you will be greeted by a cute little door and sign. The stylish entrance is exciting.

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of table and sofa seats.

The large, deep sofa is extremely comfortable to sit on.

They also lend out kids chairs for customers with children. They even have picture books available, which is a thoughtful touch.

In front of the sofa seats is stylish interior decor that reflects the owner's taste.

All of the clothes and shoes are for sale, so if you're interested, be sure to ask the staff.

The homemade sweet terrine is delicious!

The first thing you should check out is the dessert. There are three types: "Pudding" (500 yen), "Chocolate Terrine" (500 yen), and "Weekly Menu". You can choose between two types of pudding: soft and firm.

On my first visit, I chose the extremely popular "Chocolate Terrine" and "Masala Chai" (550 yen). "Chocolate Terrine" was originally planned to be a limited menu item during the pre-opening period, but it became so popular that it became a regular menu item.

It's very rich and just the right amount of sweet, making it an addictively delicious drink. It also goes perfectly with the spicy "Masala Chai."

The weekly dessert menu on my second visit was "Cheese Terrine" (550 yen). It was moist and had a mild flavor, so I could eat it all in one go. It wasn't heavy at all, and the jam and walnuts added a nice accent to it, making it very satisfying to eat.

I'm very happy to be able to enjoy this flavor at this price.

A weekly lunch menu packed with specialities

Besides sweets, lunch is also recommended!

Lunchtime is from 11:00 to 14:00, and the menu changes weekly. On this day, I could choose between the "Pasta Lunch" (1,200 yen) and the "Open Sandwich" (1,000 yen), so I chose the "Open Sandwich."

A healthy plate lunch with lots of fruits and vegetables. The salad comes with a mild homemade apple-based dressing with nuts.

The main open sandwich is made of three pieces of baguette with different toppings on each side, making it very filling. On this day, the toppings were roasted cherry tomatoes, soft-boiled eggs and smoked salmon, and grapes and jam. The grapes and jam in particular go perfectly with the cream cheese spread on the baguette. The moderate sweetness is addictive.

The accompanying carrot rapée was accented with nuts and spices, and was also addictively delicious.

For my drink, I went for a hot drip coffee (500 yen for hot coffee, 550 yen for iced coffee).

The coffee beans used are specialty coffee from ANTHEM ROASTERY in Iizuka City, and you can choose between light and dark roasts. I chose the dark roast this time, but even when I had it black it had little bitterness and was easy to drink.

Other drinks on the menu include "Hojicha Chai" (600 yen), "Black Tea (HOT/ICE)" (450 yen), and "Kids Juice" (200 yen). If you order from the lunch menu, you'll get a 100 yen discount on your drink.

The weekly menu and opening hours are updated on the official Instagram account, so we recommend checking it frequently.

"Yoka," is likely to become a new popular spot in Iizuka, so be sure to stop by. (Text by Ayaka)
