This time we will be introducing a sweets shop that recently opened inside JR Hakata Station!

A new Fukuoka souvenir staple!? A new sweets shop that can only be bought at Hakata Station: FUQUOKKA (Hakata Station Central Street, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

FUQUOKKA was born on December 14, 2024, aiming to become a new standard Fukuoka souvenir. It is located in the Miyagemon Market on the first floor of Hakata Daitos inside JR Hakata Station.

The store's mascot is the quokka, a creature said to be the happiest animal in the world with its upturned mouth, and the store's name is a combination of Fukuoka and quokka. The store offers sweets that are packed with the "good fortune" of Fukuoka.

The store is decorated with green and has a large Fukuoka illustration on it, so just visiting is exciting.

Currently, FUQUOKKA sweets are not sold on any e-commerce sites, so the only place you can buy them is at Miyagemon Market in Hakata Station! It's close to the Shinkansen exit, making it an easy place to stop by when traveling or on a business trip.

Fukuoka's Cutout Baumkuchen

"Fukuocca's Cut-Out Baumkuchen" (plain 540 yen, Amaou strawberry 594 yen, milk 594 yen, set 1,728 yen *contents and prices vary depending on the season) is a carefully baked flat-baked Baumkuchen. The top is a pure white pound cake made from slowly baked meringue. It comes in a square shape, but it can be cut out along the lines of the Fukuoka illustration, so you can remove the edges and enjoy cutting out the shape as you eat.

The "Amaou Strawberry" is so cute with Fukuoka holding a strawberry in his hand! You can enjoy the flavor of Amaou strawberry in its moist texture.

It's easy to cut out neatly, so it's sure to be a big hit with kids!

The moist dough and elegant sweetness spread throughout the mouth. It was delicious with black tea. Limited flavors are also available each season.

Fukuoka's Macaron Rusks

This is "Fukuoka's Macaron Rusk (Amaou Strawberry)" (8 pieces for 1,296 yen, 16 pieces for 2,592 yen). The macaron dough is made by kneading almond powder and meringue with Amaou strawberry paste, and then slowly baking it to create a crispy texture and strawberry aroma. The stylish appearance makes it a great gift. It's also easy to eat, as you can pick it up with one hand.

Fukuoka's butter sable

Next up is the "Fukuocca Butter Sable" (357 yen per piece, 1,426 yen for a pack of 4, 2,852 yen for a pack of 8), which is so cute you'll almost feel bad eating it. This luxurious sable is baked using the deliciousness of "Legard", a fermented butter from France. Its crispy texture and rich aroma make it perfect to pair with coffee.
