Fukuoka's most popular patisseries! Four recommended shops where you can discover unknown deliciousness (Kasuga City)

Hello! I'm Trip Camera and I love going out with my camera.

This time, we'll introduce Pâtisserie Rui in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture, a patisserie that's gaining popularity for its beautiful and original cakes.

One of a kind! "Pâtisserie Rui" (Kasuga City) offers a delightful array of cakes.

Pâtisserie Rui is located in a corner of a residential area.

The owner, Rui Yoshimura, had been running a patisserie of the same name in Oguni-machi, Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture since 2003, but his desire to open a shop in his hometown of Fukuoka grew stronger, and in 2011 he relocated and reopened the shop here.

Yoshimura's original and stylish cakes quickly gained popularity, and his shop is now one of Fukuoka's leading establishments. You often see them at department store events, too.

Opening hours are 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, they often sell out and close earlier, so be sure to check their Instagram.

There are four parking spaces in front of the store.

You'll be greeted by an object designed by the shop owner's father. Apparently, this is the motif behind the shop's logo.

Approximately 20 varieties daily, from classics to seasonal treats! Beautiful, sparkling cakes.

As soon as you enter the shop, your eyes will be drawn to the cakes shining like jewels in the display case.

Approximately 20 different types of cakes are available every day, from classic favorites to seasonal varieties. You might have trouble deciding which one to choose!

On top of the cake display case, you'll find quiches, pies, and other items.

On this particular day, they had dishes that would make a great dinner, such as "Pâté Laurent" (702 yen), a pork pie, and "Quiche made with homemade pancetta and new onions" (540 yen).

Introducing 4 recommended cakes

From the shop owner's selection of exquisite cakes, I'll introduce four types today.

C'est Parti (778 yen)

This chocolate cake offers a new taste experience, based on citrus broth and fermented extracts from Kyushu.

It looks really beautiful!

When you put your spoon in, you can see a glimpse of orange fruit. The refreshing citrus flavor pairs perfectly with the rich, smooth chocolate.

I was so impressed by this hybrid cake! ♡ It had a rich flavor, yet it was so delicious I wanted to eat it all in one go.

"I hope to continue creating interesting flavors by using extracts from the ingredients," says the shop owner. I'm looking forward to it!

Puy d'Amour (756 yen)

This cake, which resembles a sparkling glass ball and is exciting just to look at, is a specialty of Patisserie Louis.

This raspberry tart is topped with a tangy chiboust cream.

With each bite, the flavor changed, giving me the satisfaction of having eaten two or three different kinds of cake.

Caramel tart (756 yen)

A cake topped with sparkling caramelized apples on a tart base.

The juicy sweetness of the apples that fills your mouth, combined with the crispy tart crust, is simply exquisite.

The apple stem is made of chocolate, and it's so cute that just looking at it makes me happy.

Enjoy Patisserie Louis' cakes at home.

Gâteau Saison (778 yen)

A shortcake made with seasonal fruits, called "Gâteau Saison" (778 yen).

The fruit for this cake was, surprisingly, watermelon. It was unexpected, but it paired perfectly with the moist, fluffy sponge cake and the elegantly sweet whipped cream, creating a truly delightful taste.

A first-time combination, a new texture, a taste you've never experienced before. Patisserie Louis offers a glimpse into the owner's adventurous spirit.

Incidentally, the artwork displayed in the back of the showcases and elsewhere is all apparently the work of the shop owner's father or siblings.
