Is this tantanmen?! A popular and addictive dish with super rich soup and hearty toppings (Kasuga City)

Hello! I'm Trip Camera and I love going out with my camera.

This time, we will introduce the dandan noodles served at a Chinese restaurant in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

"Mahoroba: Chinese Cuisine and Delicious Sake" (Kasuga City), an authentic Chinese restaurant run by a former hotel chef

"Chinese Cuisine and Delicious Sake Mahoroba" is located on the first floor of a building near the Hikarimachi intersection, a 13-minute walk from JR Kasuga Station. It is about a 2-minute drive from Kasuga Park.

It will open on October 20th, 2023 as an izakaya where you can enjoy delicious drinks and matching Chinese cuisine.

This restaurant is run by Tsuyoshi Tsuruhashi, who was the sous chef at the Chinese restaurant "Kourou" in the Hotel Nikko Fukuoka.

After taking off your shoes at the entrance, you enter the store, which has a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a private home.

At the front, there are counter seats facing the kitchen, making it the perfect place to casually drop in even if you're alone.

Further inside there was a sunken kotatsu seat where you could relax.

They also offer affordable lunches, including the "Mahoroba Daily Set Meal" (1,200 yen), which is limited to five meals per day, as well as a noodle menu. Whatever you order, it's authentic!

Hearty toppings! Super rich "Dandan noodles"

What we would like to introduce to you today is the "Dandan Noodles" (850 yen at lunchtime, 935 yen at dinnertime).

When it is brought to you, you'll be so impressed by the generous toppings that you'll have to take a double take!

The amount of toppings is so generous that you might think for a moment, "Did I order dandan noodles, right?" With the noodles not even visible, there is a generous amount of fried onions on top of the white soup.

Through the gaps, I could see some bean sprouts and chives.

The soup is also sparkling with orange chili oil.

Before eating, the staff member said to me, "Make sure you mix it well."

The soup is thick and the sesame paste is viscous, so it's difficult to mix.

This is the rich soup, full of sesame flavor, that captivates many dandan noodle fans.

Toppings such as fried onions, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, and minced meat give it a side dish feel. The different textures make it very satisfying to eat.

The carefully selected noodles are from "Seimennya Keishi."

It looks spicy, but in reality, you only feel a slight spiciness by the time you finish one bowl.

The flavor is addictive, and even though I was full after finishing it, I felt like having another bowl.
