Hello. I'm Yuri and I love delicious lunches.
This time, we will introduce a restaurant at a long-established inn in Munakata City where you can enjoy delicious seafood, which our family unanimously praised.
"Uosho Genkai" (Munakata City) - Enjoy fresh seafood while gazing at the beautiful ocean
Genkai Ryokan is located about an hour's drive from central Fukuoka and a 15-minute drive from Togo Station on the JR Kagoshima Main Line.
This well-established inn has been in business for over 100 years, and will be renovating its guest rooms and parts of the building in 2022. It is a popular inn with a total of five rooms, including one with an open-air bath and ocean view.

Among them is the restaurant we are visiting this time, "Uosho Genkai."
Non-guests can also use the restaurant for day trips (lunch only; banquet plans only available in the evening).

It has a reputation for serving delicious fresh fish caught in the Genkai Sea, and is crowded with many people every day, including locals.
When you arrive at the inn, take off your shoes at the front desk, put them in a bag and take them upstairs.

The spacious dining area offers a panoramic view of the Genkai Sea. You'll be excited by the great location, where you can see the ocean from anywhere in the hotel.
Drinks are self-service and come in a wide variety, including roasted green tea, black tea, and coffee. They also have chairs for children, making it perfect for family meals.
You can also just come for a meal! Enjoy the luxurious "Uosho Gozen" meal♡
This time we went for a day trip lunch. The gorgeous view of the four servings being brought out was overwhelming!

This is the lunch-only "Uosho Gozen" (2,750 yen), a luxurious set menu that includes 7 dishes in total: 5 pieces of sashimi, boiled fish, tempura, chawanmushi, miso soup, rice, and pickles.

Speaking of Munakata, it's all about fresh fish! The fish landed in the Genkai Sea and Hibiki Sea are guaranteed to be delicious.
We start with the sashimi, which is beautifully presented: tuna, salmon, parrotfish, amberjack, and Spanish mackerel.

I'm happy that they are so fresh and come in a wide variety! The melt-in-your-mouth flavor will bring a smile to your face.
The menu changes daily as they use freshly caught seasonal seafood.

Next up is tempura, made with the usual ingredients: shrimp, amberjack, eggplant, and pumpkin.

The batter was very crispy and I have never tasted such a light batter before. It was a very satisfying dish.

The fish cooked on this day were amberjack and sea bream.

The flesh is moderately fatty and fluffy and soft.
The rich, strong flavor makes it perfect for eating with rice. This dish alone was of such high quality that it could have been the main course of a set meal.

The "Children's Lunch" (1,980 yen) is served in a boat-shaped serving dish.

Hamburg steak, fried shrimp, fried chicken, smile potato, sashimi, chawanmushi, miso soup, rice, orange juice, etc. Everything was so luxurious and filling that it seemed like a main dish! The kids were delighted with all their favorite foods. They ate it up, saying how delicious it was.
Being able to enjoy delicious seafood at a long-established inn on a day trip...♡ The food, which I savored at my leisure while looking out at the sea, was exceptional.
It's a popular restaurant that fills up quickly, so we recommend making a reservation in advance.
