The long-awaited brick-and-mortar store has opened! A takeaway baked goods store perfect for gifts (Minami-ku, Fukuoka City)

Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts gourmet information on Instagram, mainly about cafes in Fukuoka.

This time, we will introduce you to a takeout specialty store that sells baked goods that are perfect for snack time. They are also recommended as souvenirs or gifts.

The long-awaited brick-and-mortar store will open in September 2024! "Oyatsuya Nico", a takeaway baked goods specialty store (Hanabatake, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City)

Oyatsuya Nico, which could only be found through online shops, the flea market held at Gokoku Shrine, and collaboration cafes, will be opening a physical store in September 2024!

The location is Hanabatake, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, about a 1-minute walk from the Nishitetsu Shimohara bus stop.

It's on the second floor of the building, and the entrance is an aluminum door at the top of a flight of stairs. If you don't know, you might not even realize it's a shop...!

The interior of the shop is lovely and there are about 12 kinds of delicious looking baked goods on display. *The lineup changes from time to time.

Great as a gift! Sweets that look and taste great!

Nico Cookies

The first thing you can't miss is the "nico cookie" (450 yen).

The set includes an assortment of cute cookies shaped like the original character "Nico-kun" and animals.

It has a gentle sweetness and is crispy on the outside while being moist inside.

Rice flour chiffon cake (organic banana)

The "Rice Flour Chiffon Cake" is a popular item that is sold in 5 to 6 different varieties, including seasonal flavors.

The most popular item is the classic "Organic Banana" (300 yen)!

It has a fluffy texture, but also has the chewy texture that only rice flour can provide.

The combination of the gentle sweetness of cane sugar and organic bananas is sure to be delicious.

Rice flour chiffon sandwich

The "Rice Flour Chiffon Sandwich" is a sweet made with seasonal ingredients. On the day I visited, the autumn menu included "Chestnuts Boiled in Their Skins and Mont Blanc Cream" (550 yen).

There was plenty of cream inside and it was delicious.

The menu changes depending on the season, so be sure to check the restaurant's Instagram to see what's available that day.

Tofu donut

"Tofu Donut" (250 yen) comes in cute wrapping that looks like a candy wrapper.

It uses shiratama flour, so it has a chewy texture.

Another great thing about this snack is that it uses domestically produced tofu, wheat flour, sugar beet sugar, and rapeseed oil. It's a snack that's loved by people of all ages and is sure to please your body.

The drink menu changes depending on the season, and on the day of our visit there were drinks available: "Lemon Squash made with Setouchi Lemons" (450 yen), "Lemonade made with Setouchi Lemons (HOT)" (500 yen), "Melon Soda" (400 yen), and "Roasted Apple Houjicha (HOT)" (450 yen).

I ordered the popular "Lemon Squash made with Setouchi Lemons," which apparently uses homemade lemon syrup.

The refreshing lemon flavor and soda taste go perfectly with the sweets.

Oyatsuya Nico originated from the idea of "making daily snacks for my child."

The sweets, made with carefully selected ingredients and with a gentle sweetness, will bring a smile to your face during your snack time.

By the way, the opening days are not decided by the day of the week, so please check the store's Instagram before going out. Payment is only by cash. (Text by hicho_cafe)
