[Nakasu] Stylish "neo-Kakuuchi"! Prices start from 390 yen for a mug (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who shares the hottest information about Fukuoka.
This time, we bring you information that alcohol lovers must see! We will introduce some noteworthy shops on the first floor of "Hakata Riverain Mall."
Opening in August 2024! Nagano Saketen Hakata Riverain Store (Shimokawabata-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City) will promote a new sake culture.
Nagano Saketen is based on the concept of "a new sake culture from the Ariake Sea coast." Founded in Omuta City in 1960, it is a traditional sake store that has long been loved by locals, but it also actively promotes modern sake culture.
The Hakata Riverain store is scheduled to open in August 2024. It is a fun-filled store that not only has a stylish and comfortable corner drinking space, but also offers a selection of original brands and local specialties from the store's local city, Omuta.
This is the second store in Fukuoka city after the "Shirokane store". It is directly connected to Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the subway Kuko Line and Hakozaki Line, so it's easy to access even on rainy days.
An original brand of local sake! Check out "Komayoshi"
When you enter the store, you will see over 100 types of alcohol lined up on your left.
Among them, the one we especially recommend is Nagano Sake Shop's original brand, Komakichi!
The store has a wide selection of Komakichi series products, including sake and fruit liqueurs.
This product is a collaboration with several sake breweries along the Ariake Sea coast, and the color of the label varies depending on the product. There are various sizes to choose from, making it perfect for gifts.
You can also compare three different types of Komakichi.
They also have a wide selection of original gins and wines made with local specialties. Ginny (500ml, 4,840 yen) is especially recommended for women. It is a fresh gin made with Kamiuchi mandarin oranges, and its unique flavor is created by the combination of herbs, seaweed, and other botanicals.
Be sure to check out "MINATO" (750ml, 2,750 yen), a collaborative wine with Louis Delon, a winemaker from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France!
There are Merlot-based reds and Sauvignon Blanc-based whites.
A glass of draft beer for 390 yen! A stylish "neo-Kakuuchi" bar
If you want to enjoy a few drinks, we recommend the corner bar on the right side of the store. This space was created to allow you to enjoy the drinking culture of the Ariake Sea coast in a more casual manner, and has a sophisticated atmosphere.
You can taste sake, wine, shochu, whiskey, and more on the spot. A mug of beer is only 390 yen, which is a bit surprising.
It's great to be able to take a break from shopping and enjoy a beer at a reasonable price! They also offer non-alcoholic drinks, so you can come with people who don't drink alcohol.
There are plenty of menus that go perfectly with alcohol, including a Komakichi tasting set and a set that includes "Ategou," a snack made with local specialties.
This is the "Komayoshi and Ategou Set" (1,200 yen). The appetizers were "Western-style pickled sea mushrooms" and "Takana olive oil."
My favorite of the "Ategou" series is the "Western-style Sea Mushroom Pickled in Sake Lees." I fell in love with the rich flavor of sake lees and the crunchy texture of sea mushrooms (a type of bivalve)!
You can also purchase this "Ategou"! There are many varieties and the packaging is elegant, so it makes a great gift.
Traditional double-strand wrapping is also available! Perfect for gifts.
The gift wrapping is also unique.
There are also wrapping styles that can add a little surprise, such as the traditional "two-strand knot" method, so be sure to try them out when giving a gift.
