[Tenjin Area Donuts] A popular shop in Fukuoka City that also serves the popular Korean donut, Kwabaegi!
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.
This time, we will introduce popular Korean donuts that can be purchased at a donut shop in Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.
Colorful and unique! The hotly anticipated donut shop "JACK IN THE DONUTS" opening in 2024 (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)
"JACK IN THE DONUTS Fukuoka Tenjin store" opened in March 2024 in Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.
It is located across the road from the former main gate of Daimyo Elementary School in Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City. You can order takeout or use the cafe.
"Jack in the Donuts" is a popular donut shop with locations all over Japan, and when its Fukuoka Tenjin store opened it was a hot topic!
One of the reasons for its popularity is the wide variety of donuts available! From simple donuts to unique seasonal flavors, it's hard to decide which one to choose!
Kwabaegi, the twisted doughnut that's a big hit in Korea
One of the most popular items is the "Kwabaegi," which has been available since the summer. It is a twisted doughnut from Korea that has a unique texture that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
There are five varieties available, including the simple "Kwabaegi Sugar" (330 yen each) and the photogenic "Kwabaegi Galaxy" (385 yen each).
In particular, the "Kwabaegi Galaxy" has the colorful colors that are typical of "Jack in the Donuts". The cute chocolate design expresses a galaxy, and it's perfect for Instagram!
This time, I tried the "Kwabaegi Chocolate Mint" (385 yen), which caught my eye with its refreshing blue color!
The Kwabaegi at this shop are larger than the other donuts in the store. They have a firm bite and are very satisfying to eat. Overall, they have a refreshing chocolate mint flavor. The sweetness of the Kwabaegi itself and the chocolate mint is modest, but the cocoa cookie topping on the surface is sweet, so the overall balance is good. It was also nice to be able to enjoy different textures.
Cute and reasonably priced donuts that make perfect gifts!
Besides "Kwabaegi", other classic donuts are also not to be missed!
The particularly popular "Galaxy Donut" (220 yen each) features a beautiful space-like design, just as its name suggests.
You can't imagine what it'll taste like just by looking at it, but it's coated in chocolate and has a surprisingly standard flavor. The donut itself has just the right amount of chewiness, and the sweetness of the chocolate fills your mouth, making you feel happy!
There are a variety of donuts available, including the cute "KUMA 3da Pon" (242 yen each) with a bear's face, and the chewy "Rice Donut" (165 yen each).
The price is reasonable, starting from 165 yen each, so it's great for small gifts, snacks for children, or when you're just a little hungry!
We also recommend eating in and taking your time over a cafe!
Be sure to check out the eat-in space on the second floor.
There are table seats, sofa seats, and even a four-seater seat in the back, so you can relax and unwind.
You can enjoy the donuts on the spot along with an authentic "iced coffee" (small size 300 yen) made with coffee beans from South America.
"Jack in the Donut" is the perfect shop for donut lovers, as well as those looking for a gift. If you want to take a break in Daimyo, be sure to visit! (Text by Hakata Aya.)
