Since its first store opened in Los Angeles in 2011, The Pie Hole Los Angeles has expanded internationally. In Japan, the chain has stores mainly in Tokyo, and in June 2023, it opened its first store in Western Japan, here in Shirokane.

What caught my eye this time was the "Acai Bowl" (1,280 yen), which will be available from July 17, 2024!

You probably already know that the superfood "acai" is popular! This cafe is topped with plenty of strawberries, blueberries, and mangoes on top of cold, moderately sour acai. You can eat in the cafe or take it out.

The granola topping is homemade and has a delicious balance of sweetness and aroma...! It's well balanced with the sourness of the acai, and has a firm texture that makes it very satisfying to eat.
There is cream cheese in the middle, and when you mix it with the acai, the sourness disappears and it becomes sweet and mellow. You can start by eating only the acai, and then mix in the cream cheese after you've eaten about half of it, so you can enjoy two different flavors at once.
