"Ichiran" (Fukuoka City, Nishi Ward): A restaurant with rare table seating and special noodles that's perfect for families

Everyone in Nishi Ward, you've been waiting for this! Ichiran Odo Branch, which had been closed for a while, was renovated and reopened on August 20, 2024. This is a store where you can experience the "special feeling" that only a few stores in Ichiran have, so we'd like to introduce you to its improved appearance!

Renovation! Only two stores in the prefecture have installed table seating, making it a great place for families to come "Ichiran Odo Store" (Odo, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City)

"Ichiran Odo Store" is located in Odo, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City. It is a one-minute walk from the Showa bus stop "Odo" and about 270 meters from the Meiji-dori "Odo-nishi" intersection. There is a parking lot in front of the store with space for nine cars, and there is also a second parking lot, so you can easily access it by car.

There is a vacant seating information board inside the store, so it's great that you can check the real-time availability even while you're waiting!

On the left are two rows of "Taste Concentration Counters" that are a staple of Ichiran.

There are also table seats at the back!

Many people may have the image that Ichiran = counter seats, but this shop is one of only two Ichiran stores in the prefecture that has table seats. The point is that it is an "Ichiran" that the whole family can enjoy at their own pace!

Chairs, cups, and dishes for small children are also provided. Of course, these cups and dishes can also be used at the Taste Concentration Counter.

A special ramen made with "Ramugi noodles" that can only be eaten at 4 stores!

And after this renewal, the most noteworthy thing is the ramen made with 100% Itoshima-grown barley noodles!

"Ramugi" is a type of wheat developed by Fukuoka Prefecture, with Ichiran's full cooperation in its development, made "exclusively for ramen." Ichiran is particular about using Itoshima-grown ramugi, and serves special ramen made with 100% Itoshima-grown ramugi noodles at only four stores: Dazaifu, Koga SA (downbound), Canal City, and Odo.

So, I decided to try the "Natural Tonkotsu Ramen (Ramen Noodles)" (980 yen).

The soup is "natural tonkotsu soup" extracted from 100% pork bones. The scum is carefully removed by hand, so there is no unpleasant odor and the flavor is concentrated!

First, enjoy the flavor of the soup itself before mixing in the secret red sauce.

The noodles are made from whole Itoshima-grown Ramen, ground into whole wheat flour, giving you a taste of the whole wheat flour and a different texture to regular Ichiran noodles.

My recommendation is to order a refill (210 yen) and try just the noodles first! You'll be able to smell the rich wheat aroma spreading out before your eyes, so be sure to give it a try.

It's crisp and goes perfectly with the soup. I'm glad that there are now more restaurants where you can enjoy this special noodle that can only be found in Fukuoka!
