This delicious and cute event will be held at Hakata Hankyu again this year, not to be missed by anyone, even if you're not a fan of bread or sweets.

There are also plenty of limited edition products that you can only buy here!

[September 4th-10th, 2024] "Bread and Sweets Festival" to be held at Hakata Hankyu

The Bread and Sweets Festival will be held for 7 days from Wednesday, September 4th to Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 at the Hakata Hankyu 8th floor event hall.

The theme is "Bread and Sweets Hunting."

There's a huge selection of breads and sweets you'll want to visit every day to hunt for them, including a wide variety of Hakata Hankyu-exclusive croissants, trendy dipped sweets, popular bakeries from all over the country, and a daily special corner for canned snacks!

A total of 56 stores will be gathering, including two stores making their first appearance in the Kyushu region and eight stores making their first appearance in Hakata Hankyu.

"Cornetto" is the Italian version of a croissant. It's crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Filled with cream, "Cornetto" is a staple of Italian breakfasts.

Available exclusively at Hakata Hankyu, the "Cornetto" is filled with three types of cream: custard, chocolate, and pistachio.

An evolved version of the popular "crouffin," a combination of a croissant and a muffin! The rich dough, made with French butter, is filled with rich Yame matcha cream. The subtle bitterness of the matcha is addictively delicious.

This croissant sandwich is made with three varieties of grapes, including Ukiha grapes and Shine Muscat grapes. The vibrant colors will get you excited!

"Kurunji" is a new type of croissant that originated in Korea, made by thinly rolling out croissant dough and baking it. It has a crispy, crunchy texture that is very appealing.

This is sandwiched with fresh Shine Muscat grapes from Ukiha and pistachio cream. There's no way this combination wouldn't be delicious!

We also have "Ukiha Fig and Raspberry Cream Kurunji" (864 yen each *Limited to 75 per day).

A hot trend: "Dipped sweets" - enjoying the extra step before eating!

"Dipping gourmet," which involves dipping food in sauces or other liquids to enjoy a change in flavor, is a hot trend that is now making waves in the world of sweets!

Yasohachi Yoshibasha, the matcha latte specialty store that was hugely popular at last year's Bread and Sweets Festival, is also releasing a limited edition latte that you can enjoy by dipping!

The "Matcha Anko Sandwich Latte Float" is a matcha cookie sandwiched with homemade matcha bean paste and served with a matcha latte float. The "Houjicha Anko Sandwich Latte Float" is a homemade roasted tea bean paste sandwich made with deep roasted tea that can be enjoyed together with a roasted tea latte float.

"Dipped churros" became a big hit in Korea and was also a trend in the first half of the year. Coucou churros, a popular dipped churros specialty store in the Kansai region, has arrived in Fukuoka for the first time! Freshly made churros dipped in chocolate are even more delicious.

Popular bakeries from all over the country will appear

[First appearance in Kyushu and Hakata Hankyu] Osaka "Pan wo Yumemiru" *From September 4th (Wed) to 6th (Fri), from noon each day

Pan wo Yumemiru, located in the Hanshin Umeda Main Store, was created by bread sommelier Tomohisa Eno with the concept of "bread you want to eat so much that it appears in your dreams". This popular store, which has huge lines every day, will be making its first appearance in the Kyushu region for three days only!

Osaka's "Pan Kobo Fournier", run by Chef Takatoshi Sakata, who won the grand prize in 2006 at a baguette competition using French wheat, will be offering "Prosciutto and Raclette Cheese" (530 yen each) and "Milk French" (411 yen each).

"Tansei (ROUTE271)" is run by Chef Takashi Funai, who has 10 years of experience training at French restaurants. Among the many unique breads on offer, the "Provencal-style Croque Monsieur" (530 yen each) and "Plenty of Cream Bun" (303 yen each) are noteworthy.

Chef Keigo Murata trained at a local bakery from the age of 15, moved to France at the age of 22, and after further training in France, opened Maison Murata in 2015. Don't miss the French Butter Croissant (357 yen each) and Pistachio Sfogliatella (465 yen each).

[Demonstration / Hakata Hankyu Limited] Tokyo "MONT-NOM" *From September 7th (Sat) to 10th (Tue)

"MONT-NOM" is a bread and pastry shop located in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. Their specialty crunchy croissant "Pain Swiss" is said to have sparked the popularity of croissants in recent years.

The Pan Swiss Mont Blanc (611 yen each, limited to 100 each day) is a luxurious item made of custard cream, chestnut paste, mascarpone cream, and dacquoise wrapped in pastry, topped with large chestnuts and chestnut cream.

Kawase, a high-end bento catering shop in Kyoto, will be offering special sandwiches exclusively for the event.

Be sure to check out the "Kyoto Beef Simmered in Soy Sauce Beef Cutlet Sandwich" (2 pieces for 701 yen), which is made by wrapping specially seasoned simmered beef in fried tofu and deep frying it, and the "Dashimaki Tamago Sandwich" (2 pieces for 701 yen), which uses authentic rolled omelet from a catering shop.

The curry bread "Tokachi Mozzarella Cheese Curry Bread" (400 yen each) has won the gold award at the curry bread competition for six consecutive years since 2018.
