Super hot Miyazaki gourmet food is coming to Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store.
Here are some of the delicious foods you can enjoy at the venue.
[August 28th - September 2nd, 2024] The 4th Hot! Miyazaki Exhibition will be held at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store.
The 4th "Hot! Miyazaki Exhibition" will be held from Wednesday, August 28th to Monday, September 2nd, 2024 at the event hall on the 8th floor of the main building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store.
A total of 50 companies, from famous local stores to hot new stores, will be gathered in one place. A wide variety of gourmet foods will be available, including "Chicken Nanban," "Miyakonojo Menchi," "Spicy Noodles," "Miyazaki Gyoza," and sweets made with Miyazaki's famous tropical fruits. Some of the sweets will be collaboration sweets exclusive to the "Miyazaki Exhibition"!
Also not to be missed are the special project "Oshi Guru Awards" where you can vote for your favourite Miyazaki gourmet food and win prizes, and the appearance of "Dareyame Sakaba", a must-see for alcohol lovers.
There will also be special weekend-only events at Passage Square, making it a six-day event where you can fully experience the charms of Miyazaki.

Vote and get a Miyazaki specialty! "Oshi Guru Award"
A new project called "Oshi Guru Award" allows you to vote for your favorite Miyazaki specialty from among "Chicken Nanban," "Miyakonojo Menchi," "Spicy Noodles," and "Miyazaki Gyoza." Ten people who vote during the "Miyazaki Exhibition" will be drawn at random to win the "Sorairo Set," an assortment of cheese buns from "Kashikoubou Sorairo"!
Entry No.1 Chicken Nanban
Juicy, hot chicken with sweet and sour sauce and tartar sauce. Just thinking about "Chicken Nanban" makes you crave it, and the Western restaurant "Nobeoka Ogura" is said to be the originator of this dish.
You can enjoy "Chicken Nanban (Breast)" (1,680 yen with rice) at the eat-in area, limited to 100 servings per day.
Take-out options include "Chicken Nanban (Breast)" (1,580 yen) and "Chicken Nanban (Thigh)" (1,680 yen)!
Entry No.2 Miyakonojo Minced Meat
Miyakonojo City has been the number one livestock producer in Japan for four consecutive years. It is one of Japan's leading "meat kingdoms," with each livestock farmer producing their own brand of beef and a wide variety of branded pork.
"Miyakonojo Menchi," which is garnering attention as a new specialty of Miyakonojo city, will be available at four stores: "Kannonike Pork" (only available from August 28th to 30th), "Niku no Fukushima" (only available from August 31st to September 2nd), "Hoshi no Eki Takazaki," and "Roadside Station Miyakonojo NiQLL."

The photo below shows the popular Kannonike Pork, which will be open only from Wednesday, August 28th to Friday, August 30th. Based on the concept of "mother's homemade flavor," the restaurant uses plenty of their proud brand pork and mixes in a generous amount of local vegetables.
The top three most popular items at the shop are A. "Menchikatsu" (250 yen), B. "Bacon and Cheese Menchi" (300 yen), and C. "Asparagus Roll" (250 yen). The most popular item is the menchikatsu, which sells over 400,000 pieces a year!
Be sure to check out the bite-sized "Menchikun" (400 yen each), which comes in three flavors: plain, red, and green!
In addition to the minced meat, Roadside Station Miyakonojo NiQLL will also be offering a special menu item, the "Niqll Minced Meat Burger Set" (1,000 yen), with only 50 available each day.
This burger is made with the extremely popular Miyazaki beef from Miyakonojo Roadside Station "Miyakonojo NiQLL" and Miyazaki brand pork "Nickle Menchi".
This set is full of love for Miyakonojo, and also includes "Skol," a drink that was actually born in Miyakonojo, and "fried sweet potatoes" made with sweet potatoes grown in Miyakonojo.
Entry No.3 Spicy noodles
The now nationwide popular "spicy noodles" were invented by Takeaki and Nobuko Harada, a married couple, in Nobeoka, Miyazaki Prefecture, in 1985. This time, we will be introducing "Spicy Noodles Honpo Sayaka," which has been run by the Haradas' child, who has inherited the original taste and is still operating without changing the taste, preparation method, or ingredients.
In addition to the standard "Spicy Noodles" (from 980 yen), "Spicy Noodles (Tomato)" (from 1,100 yen) and "Spicy Noodles (Cheese)" (from 1,100 yen) are also available.
Entry No.4 Miyazaki Gyoza
Miyazaki City has ranked first in Japan in terms of gyoza spending and purchase frequency for both 2021 and 2022. * As expected from the city's beloved gyoza, there are many famous gyoza restaurants in the city.

This time, we will be featuring a selection of proud gyoza from "Gyoza no Mawatari," "Takanabe Gyoza," "Chinese Restaurant Juju," "Tori Senka Ipponki," and "Fujiwara Farm Yamanue no Butcher"!
The photo shows "Mawatari's Chewy Gyoza" (864 yen for a box of 10) from Gyoza no Mawatari, a restaurant that has been specializing in gyoza for 56 years.
Using ingredients mainly from Miyazaki, we are particular about the skin, filling, and baking, and we bake our exquisite gyoza in special lard. The baked side is crispy and the steamed side is chewy.
The boneless "Mawatari Chicken Wing Gyoza" (4 pieces for 1,320 yen) is also very popular!

What's more, there will also be a special collaboration menu exclusive to the "Miyazaki Exhibition" that uses ingredients from Miyazaki such as mango, passion fruit, hyuganatsu and hebesu!
Daimaru's first store "Spill the Honey"
"Mitsu wo Kobo" is a shaved ice specialty shop that uses natural ice from the Southern Alps and Yatsugatake. They are particular about the fruits and ingredients they use, and all of their syrup is homemade. The fluffy ice and luxurious syrup are what make this shop so popular.
The highlight is the limited collaboration menu item "Amaou Rare Cheese" (1,700 yen, see the largest photo below). It has an excellent balance of the sweetness of Amaou strawberries from Fukuoka Prefecture and the refreshing rare cheese sauce.
Other treats you can enjoy include "Isuzu Matcha Shaved Ice" (1,600 yen), "Yukimi Mochi" (1,400 yen), "Shingen Shaved Ice" (1,500 yen), "Hebesu Shaved Ice" (1,600 yen), and "Amaou Strawberry Shaved Ice" (1,600 yen).
Daimaru's first store, "Mizugashiya"
Mizugashiya is a shaved ice specialty shop that values seasonal ingredients and handmade products. They only use raw sugar from Tanegashima. The ice is made from Kirishima crack water, a blessed underground water from the Kirishima Mountains, and is carefully shaved one cup at a time using a manual shaved ice machine.
The highlight is the limited collaboration menu "Tangoku Koori" (2,200 yen *see the largest photo below). It is made with homemade rich condensed milk syrup, mangoes from Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and passion fruit from Tanegashima. The harmony with toppings such as black rice adzuki beans, tapioca, and peanut powder is irresistible!
Other planned items in the lineup include "Lemon Tea and Lemon Curd" (1,800 yen), "Peach Milk" (1,800 yen), "Organic Matcha and Red Beans from Miyazaki Prefecture" (1,650 yen), "Red Shiso Yogurt" (1,430 yen), and "Tiramisu Ice" (1,650 yen).
"WAIMOOIMO" opens its first store at Daimaru
WAIMOOIMO is a shop run by a greengrocer in Miyakonojo City that specializes in long-aged roasted sweet potatoes.
The highlight is the limited collaboration menu "Miyakonojo Beni Haruka's Tiramisu Parfait" (1,296 yen * Limited to 30 pieces per day). It is filled with plenty of roasted sweet potato and jiggly coffee jelly, and is also filled with rich and dense sweet potato cream, and is topped with the shop's popular menu item, "Korokoro Sweet Potato Donuts." You'll surely be surprised at how well coffee and sweet potato go together!
Of course, the "Baked Sweet Potato Pack" (300g 648 yen *Limited to 30 items per day) is also available. Don't miss the "Sweet Potato" (432 yen *Limited to 20 items per day) and "Baked French Fries" (1 cup 594 yen *Limited to 50 items per day).
Ohagiya Saian, the first store to open at Daimaru
Ohagiya Saian in Miyazaki City sells seasonal flower-decorated ohagi and creative ohagi.
The highlight is the limited collaboration menu "Ohagi Box Colorful A/B" (3,500 yen each * Limited to 20 items per day). It is a creative set of 7 ohagi with 3 kinds of flower-shaped ohagi that you can enjoy both looking at and eating.
In the photo below, A is a set of seven: sunflower, rose, cockscomb, hebesu, green tea, coconut, and black sesame. B is a set of seven: cherry blossom, chrysanthemum, rose, hebesu, roasted green tea, cinnamon, and walnut soybean flour. They would make a great little gift.
There are still more noteworthy sweets
There are a variety of attractive products on offer, such as the "Miyazaki Lemon Cake Mix Box" (5 pieces for 1,706 yen) from "Ottimo," a long-established Western confectionery shop in Miyazaki City; "Katasebon" (480 yen), "Aoshima Pudding" (480 yen), and "Miyazaki Mango Pudding" (680 yen) from "Nankoku Pudding" in Miyazaki City, which are made with freshly squeezed milk and fruit from Miyazaki; and "Nichinan Lemon Syrup" (300ml for 1,680 yen) from "cafe TinkTink" in Nobeoka City, which is made using only unwaxed lemons from Nichinan and sugar beet sugar from Hokkaido!
You can drink just one drink at the venue! Dareyame Sakaba
"Darayame" means "drinking to stop tiredness" in Miyazaki dialect.
In one corner of the venue, "Dareyame Sakaba" will open, offering a wide selection of delicious alcoholic drinks that Miyazaki is proud of, perfect for soothing your day to day fatigue.
With a wide selection of shochu, beer, and wine, all available at reasonable prices starting from a single glass, this is a must-see for alcohol lovers.
